Hi all,

Firstly a bit of background. I quit the game 17 years ago, and came back only recently this week with the aim of starting a HMS sealed new in box collection with multiples of my favorite Beyblades of that era; Dragoon MS, Wolborg MS and if I get lucky with the price Dragoon MSUV. I recently managed to acquire a sealed Dragoon MS, and the easier to get Gaia Dragoon MS and Draciel MS so just two more the others also (RIP my wallet, even if I can handle it somewhat) and I'm set. 

However, pre COVID19 lockdown I was due to go to Japan as part of a conference, which has been deferred, and coincidence would have it that I'm trying to do collecting in this hobby again. Thus, I'm going to try later on maybe late this year/sometime next year if the situation has improved by then. I haven't actually been to Japan before, so I don't know how it works over there with regards to older product, or if there's dedicated "vintage" stores for this stuff. 

Thus, I'm looking for suggestions recommendations from people who have been in Japan searching for HMS/older Beyblades. How hard it is to find a store that still has any sealed HMS/older Beyblade stuff in stock? If you have purchased sealed HMS stock in recent years (last 2 years) from/within Japan, which stores/places and cities did you buy from? I don't know how big the collector market is for old Beyblade, so I don't have an idea of how fast these sealed products are vanishing into people's collections. I'm also under the impression, from at least brief discussions, that only a very small niche of people are willing to pay for the high prices some HMS sealed can command (for example the Dragoon MS sealed was $210 shipped I thought I got pretty lucky with that), but if I'm underestimating the higher end/rare collectors market I would love to know so I can adjust my sights.

Additionally, are there any good sealed in box HMS sellers on here? Mainly looking for Dragoon and Wolborg MS (original anime colour schemes), so let me know!

Thanks so much for the recommendations! Mandarake are a store chain from the looks of it, so I'll use them for mail order as most of the stuff I want is in Nagoya. Have you used them before? And if so did you choose DHL or EMS shipping if you weren't buying directly from them in shop?

I’ve bought one thing from them and the experience was good. It was years ago so I used SAL. Also check the Bey Marketplace.

From your experience if you remember were the pictures they provided of the item in the listing representative of what you received? Or did you have to ask for more details/pictures beforehand?

Pretty sure it was in new condition and was in the condition they described.

Mandarake is a good suggestion.

If you're feeling more adventurous while in Japan however, try seeking out smaller toy shops and thrift stores. Finding HMS might be difficult, but it isn't impossible.

This isn't anything super major, but I found brand new HMS Customize Grip and String Shooter a few years ago randomly when I attended a Beyblade Burst tournament at a toy store called Minamotoya (みなもとや) in Hachioji, Japan.

I also went to this store in Chiba for a tournament and they had a ton of rare Beyblade Burst, although not sure if there was HMS.

You might come up empty handed, but there's also a lot less people visiting stores like these as opposed to the relatively famous Mandarake, so you might get lucky.
