Heya bladers!

Hope this is the right place in the forum to post something like this.

I'm a new Beyblade fan and I've been looking around the community, the wiki, and posts to see how things work and whatnot. It's been a mostly enjoyable journey, I even got some Beyblade Xs after I was given some (what I later found out were) Beyblade Bursts!

Despite managing to get the core concept down, I have gotten a little overwhelmed and confused with a lot of things I found. I feel like trying to learn it the way I'm doing it now is going to drag me around and eventually break my brain ^^;

Like that apparently you're not meant to buy Hasbro stuff? Or like, if you go against Bayblades from Takura Tomy you're setting yourself up for failure? Then there was those posts I found that talked about Beyblades that aren't available in the west but are getting imported. After that I just couldn't keep up with the posts, guides, combos, and everything else. My brain stopped working after a while.

I guess I'm just confused, and I have no idea whether to try and ignore it all, or if there's a way to slowly and surely get the hang of things. I know that it'll take a bit for me to remember all the terms, combos, and etiquette, and I apologize if I'm missing something obvious.

The Hasbro vs Takara Tomy thing was mostly referring to older generations, like Burst and late Metal Fight. Nowadays, with X, Hasbro is one to one the same as TT. No need to worry there.

As for importing, that is true. Hasbro is roughly a year behind TT in releases. So in order to keep up with the newest releases, importing is required.

As for learning combos and concepts, that will come with time. For now enjoy the game, spin some tops and watch the chaos ensue! Once you feel like you need to know more start looking at guides. Here on the forums and in the WBO discord are great places to hang out and start learning all you need to know!

Thank you for helping clear things up! I didn't realize I was looking at really old posts with the TT vs Hasbro thing, I should have read the year they were posted (2020 is still recent.. right? XD).

I'll probably not do any importing at this point, until I can at least get more into it and learn all the big combos and such! I got most of the ones from my local store and I'll be putting them together for some testing (I don't have the arena yet, I still have an old burst arena, which is better than nothing!).

I might join the discord at some point in the future, I'm a little wary after a few servers got raided and nuked, it wasn't fun waking up to that ._.
