Chapter 6: The Bey Knights
Rantaro: “We’re finally here. The town of Ivanten.”
*After Valt took down Killer Gabe and Gigant Gaia, they had went back to get Ken and had traveled through the broken tunnel and walked for about twenty minutes before coming up to the town in the distance. The town looked somewhat gloomy, and lacking of people from the distance*
Rantaro: “Ivanten. A town with a population of only a few hundred. Stay cautious of any foes that might try to attack us. It’s likely someone who works for Shu will be spying on us and making us aware of Shu.”
*Valt and Ken nodded, understanding, and the three made their trek down the hill, where they would enter Ivanten. After a few minutes, they finally arrived at the town*
Valt: “This place is kind of foggy. Couldn’t we be ambushed easily?”
Rantaro: “That is why you have to keep your guard up at all times. Otherwise, we could be killed quickly.”
Valt: “I will be sure to do that.”
Ken: “Me too.”
*The three continued walking through the town, Rantaro remembering that rumors about chaos in the large castle in Ivanten might be the source of the deaths. Following the trio was a boy of 12 years old. He was tiptoeing between the buildings so as not to be spotted. When the trio got to the end of the line of buildings to the left and right, the boy ran towards Valt, who was keeping Victory Valkyrie in his pocket. The trio was talking to each other, and since the boy was very quiet on his toes, he saw the bulge in the pants pocket and proceeded to grab what was inside it: Valkyrie. The boy immediately ran off quickly*
Valt: “That boy! He stole Valkyrie!”
*Valt ran quickly after him, Rantaro and Ken following quickly after. The boy ran across a large river, which had some large stones across it. Every rock he pushed off of would break off and flow across the river. He eventually got to the other side where he continued running*
Rantaro: “Leave this time me, Valt.”
*Rantaro launcher Rising Ragnaruk, and Ragnaruk proceeded to chase after the boy by running across the surface of the water. Bey Spirit was flowing through Ragnaruk as this happened. Eventually, it got to the other side and continued its chase. Rantaro then proceeded to take a large leap and take steps for a quick second across the water with his Bey Spirit keeping him from sinking. He also eventually made it to the other side. By that time, however, Ragnaruk has already taken the boy down*
Rantaro: “Looks like this kid really did steal Valkyrie!”
*Rantaro was holding the boy by the top opening of his shirt. He grabbed Valkyrie out of the boy’s hands and showed it to Valt and Ken, who were still on the other side of the river*
Rantaro: “Got any thing to say for yourself, kid?”
Boy: “That Blue Beyblade looked so cool! Better than my brother’s Deathscyther.”
Rantaro: “Deathscyther?”
*Rantaro carried the kid across the river using Bey Spirit to jump on the water. When they got to the other side, the boy explained*
Boy: “My older brother owns this Beyblade called Deathscyther. I actually have it with me.”
*The boy showed off Deathscyther. The Beyblade had four contact points which were almost like waves of water with a flat front. Unlike Valt and Rantaro’s beys, this one was the simple design that players or past players of Bey Ball owned*
Rantaro: “Why don’t you tell me your name, kid?”
Boy: “My name is Souta. I have an older brother named Daina, and he is the actual owner of Deathscyther.”
Valt: “This Bey looks pretty cool.”
Rantaro: “So Souta, are you lost?”
Souta: “Well, my older brother went to investigate the reports of zombified beasts lurking in the castle a couple days ago. He never came back, and I wanted to go find him. It’s strange he didn’t bring his Bey with him, because he commonly uses it as a weapon in serious situations.”
Valt: “Why did you steal my Bey, then?”
Souta: “Because it looked cool, and also Deathscyther doesn’t seem strong enough to take down anything Daina couldn’t handle.”
Valt: “You shouldn’t steal Beys because of it though. We actually are heading to the castle ourselves too.”
Souta: “You are? That’s great! I’m sure you guys can take down whatever is in that castle!”
Rantaro: “Speaking of which, do you know where it is?”
Souta: “It’s up this large hill, right by some rocky terrain.”
Rantaro: “Guess it’s time to do some climbing then.”
*Both Valt and Ken groaned, knowing this was going to take a while. They began their trek up the hill. Already tired, Valt and Ken had to muster up some determination to keep going.*
Rantaro: “Just to let you know, Valt, just a small amount of Bey Spirit flowing through your body can keep your body going!”
Valt: “Good to know.”
*Valt mustered up some Bey Spirit, and let it flow through his body, giving him some energy like caffeine would. Eventually, he had to carry Ken, who was too tired to keep going. Eventually they reached the top, only to be met by tall rock structures. Rantaro saw a figure encased in the darkness of the night*
Rantaro (Whispering): “Valt, someone is guarding the castle.”
Valt (Whispering): “Why do you say that?”
Rantaro (Whispering): “Look on top of that rock structure.”
*Rantaro pointed to a tall rock structure, the figure emerging from the darkness*
Figure: “Looks like this new friend of yours found me, Valt! No matter, I can just kill the three of you with ease.”
*It was Shu on the rock, his smile sinister and filled with evil. It looked like he already had a plan to kill the three of them, and was ready to execute it. Rantaro launches Rising Ragnaruk and it ricochets off the rock structure. Rantaro jumps and then jumps off of Ragnaruk, sending Rantaro flying higher up the rock structure. He had Ragnaruk in his hand, ready to launch. At Shu’s height, Rantaro tried to launch Ragnaruk, with Bey Spirit flowing through it, with his hands, but was stopped by Shu’s own body. Rantaro’s hands began to freeze, and Shu held him by his hands*
Shu: “Is this the Bey Spirit I have heard about? It requires a breathing technique, right? I’m sure that means it also require blood to flow through where you want the Bey Spirit to go? Without blood flow, you can’t use Bey Spirit, so I decided to drop my body temperature so low, it’d make someone’s body freeze.”
*With Rantaro’s hands frozen together, Shu let go of Rantaro and let him fall. His black top hat fell off his head, and Valt got to him just in time to catch him*
Rantaro: “The freezing is spreading up my arms! I need something hot, and fast!”
*By then, Ken had woken up and seen the situation that they were dealing with. Souta was watching, interested in what was going on exactly*
Ken: “My Kerbeus can create warm sparks on the rocky ground. With enough speed, it should be able to heat up your hands.”
Rantaro: “Go ahead! Valt! Try to take down Shu and don’t let me distract you!”
Valt: “Will do!”
*Ken launched Kerbeus, and Kerbeus ground at the rock, causing large sparks which were warm. Rantaro held his hands over the sparks, and the ice began to thaw. Valt was trying to fend off Shu, but Shu kept fighting back with more power. Valt was beginning to lose energy*
Valt: “You almost done over there, Ken!?”
Ken: “His arms are finishing thawing, then he should be back in action.”
*A few more seconds passed by, and Rantaro was fully headless of his frozen arms*
Rantaro: “Put everything you got into your next launch, Valt!”
*Valt and Rantaro readied their launchers, and launched at full power. The two beys went flying at Shu. Shu launches Storm Spriggan and attempted to deflect the attack. Spriggan was sent flying at Shu’s face. Shu quickly raised his right arm to his forehead, and caught Spriggan*
Shu: “I’m done wasting my time with you guys. Yuugo! Xhaka! Finish them off for me, will you? I’ll be returning to the castle.”
Yuugo and Xhaka: “Yes, sir!”
*The two warriors came out from behind rock structures. They were heavily armored and looked like knights with shining armor. Their skin, however, was very zombified, leading Rantaro to the conclusion that Shu had revived these two knights from the dead to use them as warriors to protect him. One knight weld a large sword shaped launcher. The other one weld a regular launcher. Shu jumped across the rock structures back to his castle*
Rantaro: “Valt, take the one with the sword launcher!”
Valt: “Ok!”
*Rantaro and Valt launched their beys. Ragnaruk battled against the other stamina type, which Yuugo was using*
Yuugo: “My Yaiger Yggdrasil’s Stamina can’t be beaten! Just try to win against Yggdrasil in a stamina battle!”
*Victory Valkyrie started its brawl with a Sword Beyblade, belonging to Xhaka. The Sword bey’s attack power was outstanding, and Valkyrie was having trouble competing with it*
Xhaka: “My Xeno Xcalibur’s attack power is far too great for you to beat! You mind as well fall to your knees while you still have them!”
*Victory Valkyrie was struck hard by Xeno Xcalibur just then, and was sent flying into Valt’s foot. Valt fell on his left knee, and pulled Valkyrie out. Valt had nearly run out of stamina, but knew he had to give it his all*
Valt: “I...I won’t lose to a Blader like you!”
*Valt’s body was scorching with Bey Spirit. Bey Spirit ran through his veins through his body and through his Bey. Valt took a stance, and launched hard. Victory Valkyrie was spinning at a very high speed, and it was leaving sparks behind it where it touched the ground*
Valt: “Valkyrie! Ultra Flash Overdrive!”
*Victory Valkyrie came speeding at Xeno Xcalibur. Xhaka was not ready to give up, however*
Xhaka: “A fancy showoff of your bey isn’t going to lead you far! Go for it, Xcalibur!”
*The two beys collided. Victory Valkyrie pushed with a strong force, leaving Xeno Xcalibur in the dust, flying at a high speed, right through Xhaka’s right leg. The leg shot off and went flying away. Xhaka fell to the ground*
Xhaka: “You think a missing leg is going to stop me? You may be good, but I’m not giving up until I come out as the victor!”
*Xhaka had caught Xeno Xcalibur, and launched it again. Valt launches Victory Valkyrie again with Bey Spririt flowing through it again. Valkyrie smashes into Xcalibur again, but this time, Xcalibur refuses to back down. Valkyrie was flung into the air but came right back down and attacked again. Valkyrie came in with an ongoing barrage of attacks towards Xcalibur. Xcalibur couldn’t keep up and was flung towards Xhaka at a high speed. This time Xhaka caught Xcalibur with his bare hands*
Xhaka: “I already told you: I...Will...Not...Back...Down!”
*Xhaka launched Xeno Xcalibur again at Victory Valkyrie. Valkyrie was slammed into Xcalibur and sent flying into the middle Valt’s chest. Valt had managed to place his hand there on time, but the impact sent him falling down the hill into water. Xhaka threw himself off the hill and came falling after him*
Xhaka: “Now to end you!”
*Valt tried to come up for air, but with Xhaka chasing after him, it was not possible without being killed. Valt tried to find an opening, but could not find one. Xhaka landed in the water, and all Valt could do was swim around the lake. He was running out of time, as Xhaka got ready to launch Xeno Xcalibur*
Valt (Thinking): I have to find a way out of this. What can I do?
*Valt looked down and remembered that air bubbles could come up from river grounds. He started diving down deeper into the river, his lungs already about empty of air. Xhaka launched Xcalibur, and it was coming down fast. Valt reaches the bottom of the river and breathed in an air bubble, then put all of the Bey Spirit he had into his launch*
Valt (Through bubbles):Valkyrie! Aqua Rush Overdrive!”
*Victory Valkyrie rushed towards Xeno Xcalibur and smashed into it, sending Xcalibur flying towards Xhaka. Xhaka was flung out of the water by the impact of Xcalibur and landed on the ground hard, defeated*
