Hey guys I’m one of those guys who didn’t understand edge real gimmick and I look in article in Screw trident 8 bump wedge and what it says is that heavy tip  nullifies OWD and then I think if more weight on the tip in decreases OWD then less weight  in the tip will increase OWD so the real purpose is to make center of the bey less heavier to increase OWD
(Obviously the effect doesn’t work)

Do you mean Wedge or Edge?
If you are talking about the Wedge on Screw Trident, actually it is just aim to use metal which has lower friction and thus get longer spinning.
And for Edge, it aims to decrease the area that the tip contact with the stadium to reduce the friction.
