My mom used to play saxophone and says it’s similar to that.
What about different octaves, sharp notes, and flat notes?
Size determines how high and low it can go. Most ocarinas are tenor in C-major, although bass ocarinas do exist. They are huge, and I mean HUGE.(compared to a normal one) some ocarinas have multiple chambers(the hollow area) for lower pitches but those are more difficult to play apparently. Look up “teacarina video”, it’s really funny. An ocarina that’s also a teacup.
