Cooking Thread: your "i cant cook" jokes aren't clever
My mom and I are planning on opening up a restaurant here in Grapevine in 10 years when she retires. She is an amazing cook, she can cook ANYTHING. It's going to be called the Cheddar Grape, which will serve my bizarre creations and her amazing food.
The Cheddar Grape sandwhich is one of my creations. It's simply amazing. Take two slices of white bread, put one slice of Kraft Singles Cheese on it, then take a handful of Cheddar Harvest Sunchips and place them on the cheese. Put on grape on each sunchip, and viola; the Cheddar Grape.

i've never found nori to taste salty
Weird, my taste-buds pick up salt in anything and it makes me cringe, though it's not too bad once it's been soaked in Ramen broth for a while XD=
ramen broth IS salty
:pwn:
At the japanese restaurant here it isn't.
Weird XD
The hell kinda ramen are you eating?
Shooyu, Miso, Kimchi. All seems pretty salty to me.
Chicken ramen without seaweed or beansprouts? XD
Your ramen better be authentic ramen.
Anyway, my friend came over today.

We stuffed a lemon up its carp since we forgot to get an apple.
It was a bit sour, but quite a different taste. Also, she wanted to bake gingerbread cookies.

We had too much food colouring on hand.

The above was an attempt to make a "marbled" texture but it didn't quite work out. Some were quite nice though, like the one on the far left.

Those cookies are ace XD
And I'd assume its real ramen, since it's from an authentic Japanese restaurant XD
It's probably not salty to me because it should have Nori and beansprouts but I don't like either so I keep them out.

Wow. I don't know what to say. 0_0
Not really me cooking, but I just had a great dinner. I had foccacia with balsamic vinegar and olive oil and french onion soup to start. Then I had an 8oz New York steak called the "Bloody Caesar" (rare, obviously; you don't order something called the Bloody Caesar anything but!), which was a steak marinated in clamato, garlic and Tabasco. It was served with roasted brocolli, carrots and potatoes, and on top of the steak was bacon, button and portobello mushrooms, and gorgonzola cheese.

Minus the bacon, that sounds nummy.
what's wrong with bacon
Imo bacon tastes bad, but thats just my opinion. Slightly burnt bacon tastes ok. But one that isn't well cooked tastes like sandwich ham. I hate sandwich ham.
Today i tried to make something Japanese. Why? Cos im on holiday and bored.
Okonomiyaki(Japanese Pancake)
I got the powder (Made of flour etc) from the local Asian Supermarket. I stired water and egg with it to create a thick mix, which i added chooped lettuce and a mix of frozen seafood (YUM!...)
Then using my pro pancake cooking skills i was able to create a pancake with the mix. I then put mayonaise and Okonomiyaki sauce on top and sprinkled it with some sought of japanese herb thing which i have no idea what it is.
It was yummy.

Pork in general, I'm also allergic to egg whites and am not supposed to drink/eat anything Acidic (Like orange juice) and if I drink milk that's any thicker than Skimmed, I puke.
I have IBS which is the problem for all of this and it uber sucks, Though I never learn concerning the Acidic stuff because im constantly eating spagetti bolognese.
I'm pretty certain i mentioned it earlier in topics

That reminds me, I finally got down to making pig candy. Many thanks to Brad for introducing the recipe so long ago!
*sigh* I always make things that taste really nice (to me anyway) but they rarely look good so if I posted a picture it would look rubbish.......

I made some sweet Chipolte chicken breast last week. Turned out great.
And chicken fried rice a little while back, I used too many garlic cloves though.

Murdered my throat, I promptly ate more. It's addictive.
Also, I scraped off the melted sugar from the metal pan beneath the rack I laid the bacon on. It tastes very good too.
Going to be making this on a BBQ pit next week.
