Don't think of a combo as individual parts, because it isn't.
Flame is outclassed by Earth, GB145 lowers spin time on most combos, and HF/S is absolutely inferior to WD.
The parts make the combo. Earth 145-height WD combos are well-founded as very solid stamina options.
can't remember all the details but last winter, the combo flame ____ 145HF/S was made as a "poor mans" 230, though it may seem pathetic, it actually did really good (but IIRC, only against low track combos)
just because parts are outclassed doesn't mean the combo is bad, sometimes combos made out of outclassed parts can do better then good parts can
I'd rather give someone a tried and true combo than a "poor man's" anything, especially when it's using a tip that is just unspeakably bad. GB145 is also a hideous decision for that combo.
Earth Aquario AD145WD is a solid combo.
