For pure attacking, Lightning is usually better than Meteo. A good combo would be MF-H LLD CH120RF or MF-H Lightning L-Drago BD145LRF.

For spin-stealing combined with attack, Meteo is the better option. However, Meteo normally sees use in pure spin-steal combos, so just stick with Lightning.

would Basalt Bull AD145WD work as a defence type?

AD145 is usually for Stamina types, so replace that with BD145. WD is for Stamina as well, so replce that with CS.
