When I think about things I don't like about Beyblade fics...I get flashbacks when the original series first came out and I would come across fics that had female versions of the Bladebreakers. Usually said female versions and the Bladebreakers fall in love with each other lol I guess my issue is literal carbon copies of actual characters?

Speaking of fanfics...I've just started toying with the idea of going back to a Tetsuya centric fic I had started years ago. Metal series, of course. It's not on here though. I think the only problem I had ran into it was his 'crabby speech'. Maybe I'll properly get back to it one day. I do have a small idea for a Burst fic as well.

Quite surprised this is your first post in years. This thread out of the many better ones, wow. Impressive you have stayed on the site for quite a long time, however

Yeah, I agree. The genderbending idea isnt my favorite either. I mean, I dont really care how bad it is utilized and all, but something about it seems pretty unoriginal to me. The genderbent names also turn my interest off

Yea, I don't really post much because I am shy. I prefer to just sit back and read topics. I was in a fanfic mood and came here for inspiration of sorts xD Especially since a friend is trying to encourage me to do one for Burst. wattpad scares me and fanfiction.net doesn't have much Burst stuff for some odd reason.

The genderbending stuff is the only thing I can think of that I dislike. That and the general good idea but obviously rushed stories. I think it's usually younger fans writing when that tends to happen.

Maybe you should try Archive Of Our Own. The Beyblade Burst fandom there isnt wacky so far (The Rated G/T stuff are vast compared to the nasties) compared to WattPad. There are some really good non-romance Burst content on there. I cant really say the same for other series, but as far as I see things (800+ Beyblade works) the most of it is mature
I don’t really like when people try to get character development, but they try to cram it all into one chapter, which doesn’t really appeal to me. I also don’t like when people are practically screaming “I have character development!” It’s just annoying.

I agree with you, as any characters practically screaming "I have character development!" seems more like an informed trait than actual progression. It's a show, don't tell game when it comes to this kind of stuff.

One thing I've also noticed is that some people mistaken what character development is. Like, some people are under the assumption that elements like for example, the main protagonist discovers something mysterious, equals character development but unless it effects the characters personally in any way, having things happening to a character alone isn't development. We need to see how that certain thing effects the character and what they go through to change as a result.

I agree 100%. Pure action doesn’t equal development! The emotions do.

One thing that really grinds my gears is the “Losing Means Friendship” or similar tropes. Especially when done by unexperienced writers, it gets really boring quickly. A Beyblade rival/villain losing to the protagonist automatically going “ok lets be frens” in one chapter? Oh heck nooo

I mean, the trope can be done right, if its been implied that there are thoughts building up in the characters’ mindsets, etc. But personally, Im here for better developing pacing, like a rival/villain not ready to give up yet or is reluctant about reforming, or has a hard time redeeming themselves

That’s part of the reason why I like Steven Universe, or more specifically, the “movie” for it. It does the trope very well, versus “oh you beat me! You’re my hero! Let’s be friends!” Like a lot of fanfics do.

Im kinda guilty of this, because the same thing happened in my trash MFB fan fiction but we're not gonna talk about that here

You know the deal buster!
I just wrote a bone chilling episode for Super Evolution 💀☠💀
Again with the character development, I hate when people just try to shove character development into chapters just for the sake of being able to say “oh yeah, my story is superior because it has character development”. That’s not how it works! If you have to literally cram it into the chapter, you’re not doing a great job at it, especially not when it’s repetitive, and/or has no effect what so ever on the character (which doesn’t make it character development, does it?).
I am currently designing my antagonist Michael Knox and I was planning to give him a bey called Gold Midas, but then I came up with an even better name: Greed Midas. I also plan on making his bey evolve to the dark side by fusing it with the Poison layer base to create Corrupt Midas. Still not sure on how to do the driver gimmick though. I need some assistance.
I was going to ask this on the Beyblade Random Thoughts, but thought it would fit here since I might make fan content or writing for this:

Is there any Beyblade in Burst based on the Zouwu (Chinese mythological cat-like creature) as of now?

Not that many entities have been chosen tbh, mostly greek-romain and christian gods.

I mean if you want to do it, sure. Im not too sure if I want to make a Beyblade for it

As of now I only have one Zouwu sketch I originally created for the Beyblade’s Bit Beast/avatar. Hmu if youre interested in a fullcolor for your “inspiration” or if you have a Beyblade fanfic character with a Zouwu Beyblade. If not, then Ill just use this for my original story junk or make a whole new design for myself

Edit: Great going, iPad. You broke the WBO code again

Edit 2: Goodness, I fixed it

Reminds me of a Pokemon ngl

Alright, thats cool. Ill keep this image just in case youd like a digital version one day

If you change your mind, thats also cool. These sketches take a couple minutes so its not much a big deal
Alright Imma leave this thread cause I keep getting ignored Uncertain

Youre not getting ignored. I am speechless and have no clue what to say when someone compares my art to a fictional animal called a Pokémon

I dont often draw Bit Beasts for people because knowing them, theyll either go “eh not what i had in mind” or “it doesnt seem to fit my story but its cool”
can i post a Character Bio in here? @XSabxManiacX
