...Whelp there's goes the theory that Bird can hold his own/is actually strong against non-named tower climbers only being presently outclassed by named characters because he lacks some kind of "IT" factor. I mean, whatever the hell that supposed to be at this point. I wanna make criticism about his launch stance style but he doesn't even seem to bother to try to tap into the actual potential of his blade as proven in this episode and backed a few episodes back.
Okay, seriously, the anime version was doing a better job of slowly building the kid up until this episode. Who is this show even for at this point? Burn save the plot!
I'm fine with MCs having a large lose record at the start when it's fairly justified. But in this series case, this is beyond frustrating at this point and it's being treated as a joke. Not cool to the viewer or Bird. Because honestly, he TRIES. He acknowledges himself as the weakest link and while getting a bit ahead of himself, is still the "most aware" as the viewer surrogate of the world around him outside Bey Pro Life.
It's like they looked at MFB's early eps where Kenta was the main focus and Ginga was the strong guy with the air of mystery that settles most of the problems failing to understand that outside personal pride at that point THERE WERE NO STAKES. Once we had that Ginga took the full reigns as the viewer focus. And even then we saw Kenta getting gradually better.
However Kenta was not major tourney level.
Something's got to give here. That said, I'm all for whatever Burn is planning.
