Beyblade X Draft Format

Been playing this format with some friends and we've been enjoying it a ton. There are two variants to the draft format, 1-on-1 and Deck.

What I've enjoyed most is that for those that have a huge collection, it allows us to play with that collection. It's been refreshing to play with beys that see little to no play. More importantly, for me personally, it's been great to just buy beys and not worry about the competitive viability.

Feedback is more than welcomed and would love to hear what y'all think if you've played it!
Very cool, this is something I've been wanting to do since I tend to host game nights for friends.
I had the same thoughts and recently did almost the exact same thing as your “Deck Draft Format” Smile. I’m returning to the hobby after 20 years, and wanted to play some 3on3 with friends who didn’t have any Beys of their own. Since “Booster Draft” is my absolute favorite format in TCG spaces, I wanted to emulate that.

The main difference was that instead of restricting to first choosing blades, then ratchets, then bits… we put ALL 3 types up for drafting at the same time. This developed another type of drafting strategy essentially making players choose between building 1 very strong beyblade to almost their exact specification, or having 3 very average beyblades. Parts were essentially chosen like “1 of any” for the first pick, and then “2 of any” for all subsequent picks (until there is only 1 part left).

I thought this was very fun and would be a *great* casual format to have documented somewhere on this site. It’s also especially fun as the host gathering what I think would be the 6 most interesting options of each type of part, similar to what you’d do for a “cube draft” for Magic the Gathering. (I found curation to be half the fun Tongue_out)

We all had a blast, and I think I converted 3 of my friends into Beyblade fans after this Smile
