That's when he made death Griffin a left spin balance type ,and it slowly started possessing him he tried to resist but it took over 
Then he went to battle with all the people who participated in god bladers cup ,and defeated everyone of them ,even lui ,except shu who he had a tie with and free who he was defeated by
His win against lui and his tie with shu made the dark power decrease to a almost controllable point
He only lets out the dark when he is loosing ,but he can't do it every battle or he'll get completly consumed so ,he can only do it after 2 matches so he saves it for really strong opponents
