Just the summary itself already told us lane motivation and character
I'm pretty sure Lane is the bad guy........DUH!

Lane is definitely the main antagonist but being the main antagonist simply means you are the main opposition to the main protagonist (main rival) and it does not mean you are a villain, although they usually are portrayed as villains. That being said, despite his intimidating appearance, Lane may very well just be the ultimate rival of the Asahi brothers and he could be a nice guy for all we know. The thing that makes me feel that is not true however, is the fact that Free clearly gets agitated at the thought of Lane not to mention the fact that he is linked to the “black sun.”
Wait so Lane is basically a more powerful version of Fubuki?

basically yea what shame such wasted potential he  was good but he could've been great (insert sub zero voice lol)
I believe lui will win
What I bet is that Lane turns evil or gets possessed by his bey.
You know now me eyes caught the part that shu has beaten the lesson into lane . Damn shu what did you do how many time you burst him if it anything like how he was beaten the learn a new launch style out of aiga or more than 💀💀💀 😂😂😂😂. Joked aside shu is pretty good at teaching made fubuki grearly improve (Writers could've done more with him though) and correct/refined aiga ways of beyblading and now lane he got good track record as a bey teacher

You know what, that actually isn’t so far fetched. Maybe he just starts out very determined and arrogant but his determination and arrogance later turn into a lust and obsession with winning causing him to either turn evil or gets possessed.
I hope Lui finds a way to win. That could be good for Lane's development as a villain. Starting off cocky, but losing the battle and his mind.

But you know, the anime has to market the new bey so I don't think he's winning.

As much as I agree that Lane should lose since he is a rookie like Hyuga and Hikaru, it can’t happen because Sisco Rantaro and Free all lost in 3-4 episodes and this is going to be the 5th episode Lui appears in (surprisingly longer than the last 3 probably due to Lui and Lanes battle taking up 2 episodes end of 15 and this ep). Yes that doesn’t mean he has to lose but if the other 3 did he probably will too plus he’s up against Lane who not only owns the new release (new releases usually don’t lose their first battle but it does happen sometimes) and is in his first battle but also specifically has the July release meaning he has the early antagonist bey (second antagonist/final boss beys release in either December or January to clarify) Lui almost has to lose this.
Bruh, they are wasting time. If Lane shows up, he's mostly likely winning. LMFAO
That looks amazing

Actually lanes barrier beytype was illegal in the original beyblade series

How come the villain has been introduced as early as 15(actually 7)

Why so soon?

How its been shown in the manga already that he’ll lose and Lanes already beat free and free’s higher in the rankings also the manga showed Lane beating free and in the anime it was said he beat free
