Hello.  I own and organize many pop culture conventions in northern New Jersey (go to www.VeteriProductions.com).  I would like to organize a beyblade tournament at my largest convention, ToyConNJ (www.ToyConNJ.com) which is scheduled for June 22-23, 2019.

The WBO is a non-profit organization. I don't know if there are prohibitions against accepting pay to run a tournament, but there's apparently no real mechanism in place to easily facilitate 3rd party groups who wish to hire a set of tournament judges and organizers.

WBO is a volunteer community driven organization, they do tournaments mostly for fun. No one's paid, all the money goes back into the website and tournaments. There's a plethora of material on the Rules and Organizers sections about running a tournament, but it was written with community initiated events in mind.

This is not the first time in recent days that this question has come up. I think the organizers need to either set some sort of official policy or process for this sort of thing.

That said, there aren't as many active judges and organizers that WBO can actively take on contract work. There are a lot of hoops to jump through to become an organizer of WBO tournaments.

As DeceasedCrab described above, we are a fan-run non-profit group, so the amount of resources we have available to be able to host events in different areas is unfortunately limited. All of our events are run by fans for fun and while we do not have an official policy against paying someone to host an event for you at this point in time, to allow it would ultimately go against our philosophy and open up a whole new set of concerns we may not be equipped to address properly.

That being said, we are always open to taking on new Organizers if you (or someone helping with your conventions) are interested in taking the initiative to become one yourself so that your event can be advertised on our website.

If you're interested in hosting an event of your own, you can visit this page to learn more: Become an Organizer. It outlines the four steps required. You can create a thread in the North America forum to try and gather interest for a tournament in your area as it is required to have confirmed interest of at least 4 WBO users before submitting your first event proposal after passing the Organizer's Quiz. So, to start you could have the people you know join the WBO and post to confirm their interest.
