[Answered]  Plus size custom stadiums?

Hi

So I'm currently trying to find a solution to making a plus size stadium (for personal fun use with friends)
similar to the one zankye has https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhVtRMDo8oI

he has stated he had it custom produced in a factory, but questions have yet to reveal exactly what COMPANY took this order.
and even if I gained this information, I doubt it will be of much use to me as I live in Australia- and shipping would cost me an arm and a leg.

jojo has used a metal snow sled in her videos, I have considered this. But I would need some sort of lining to stick to the indside that would not affect stamina too greatly, mainly because I fear for the abuse/durability the drivers/performance tips would take over repeated usage in a sheet metal stadium.

so I ask does anyone know of methods to make or aquire a plus size stadium?
and/or what type of plastic is used for official hasbro/takara tomy stadiums? (pvc etc)

I can see either commisioning some fabrication company to vacuum form a large stadium (which would be expensive)
or find and buy a shallow bubble window used in playground equipment (which 'could' be expensive, and require extensive research)
Buy two normal stadiums and cut them in fourths, and then hot glue them together
My suggestion would be to find some person or place that does vacuum forming. This is heating plastic so that it takes the form of an object. It just requires some base to form that won't melt.

If you give them a stadium to compare to, they may be able to find good plastic.

You need a bigger radius to have a bigger stadium. Your suggestion doesn't increase the radius unless some filler material for the center is provided....which is probably the only way you could fit the 8 pieces together anyway (without holes and gaps being left).
Use a sattelite dish that is not working cover up the holes (if it has any) and spray paint it to look like the anmie.

I don't want to do that without some form of lining because I am worried about the hard metal damaging the tips.

It won't, but launch close to the stadium
Seriously, we nabbed a sattelite dish back in the day, the best stadium I have ever bladed in.
If I'd have to guess, the material used for zankye's new stadium is probably Acrylic or Polycarbonate. The issue I see with using either of these plastics is that they have a very hard surface and are very stiff. I feel like any kind of rubber tip would just grip too much. IMO, your best option would probably be either Polypropylene or Polyethylene. If you REALLY wanted to, you could make your own stadium using everyday product containers IE. the lids from Pringles cans. They are made from Polypropylene as well as shampoo bottles and a ton of other containers. There a a ton of tutorials out there explaining how to melt it down and repurpose it. IDK about Australia, but in the USA the plastics are labeled PP with the recycle triangle around it.

You could also search locally/semi-local for any sort of plastic distributors/fabricators and inquire to them about if they offer any sort of Thermoforming or Vacuum forming services and see about a quote.

Another option is you could look into RV roof domes or Skylight roof domes, maybe even find one used locally. Not sure how price would differ though compared to having a piece being built. Or.... try and locally source a skylight contractor in your area. They probably produce skylights as well...

ALSO, there are TONS of factorys that can "custom produce" a simple dome, with or without the hole...

Thankyou. This was the kind of answer I was looking for.
I have also been researching this, personally the metal is fine for me and have settled on fire bowls. But I did come across this company if it will help -

This was a recent find from another thread:

I found it...a stadium...its smaller than sleds, but it is plastic and made specifically for tops, so idk. It's some kind of toymega brand, but info is there for dimensions/size, with a video link for a demo thing...

Is it okay to create a thread specific to the find?

zankye's vid. link for it is in the desc, but the previous sites I found are cheaper at base price. the one I picked up was around 21 and 22 USD.
