Does anyone know the origin of Desert sphinxer? Like was he ever in the manga/anime? Was he sold as an exclusive for something? I can't seem to find a lot of info about it.

It was fan designed for a CoroCoro design contest. It was in a special manga chapter iirc

There’s the manga chapter. The other info I got from a Japanese site when someone asked the same question awhile ago.
