[Answered]  Beyblade Party in Canada

I am going to host a beyblade party for my child in a months time.

I don't know anything about beyblades and don't know what to buy.

I will need a stadium and all the beys for the kids to use.

I have found some fusion on resale is this a good type to buy or should I look for the latest burst style.

I still need to look up rules and how the tournament will work, we will have about 1 hour with about 8 to 10 kids.

Please advise.
It sounds like you have a theme but not a plan or infrastructure.

What does a Beyblade Party consist of? Are you going to hold a single elimination or round robin tournament for 8-10 children? Will anyone be bringing their own beys? Will you have enough launchers? Who gets to use what parts?

We have exhaustive organized rules for running tournaments, and they're totally outside of the scope of what a new-to-Beyblade person can understand and run. But here are the links.

I would suggest you aim for a smaller scope.
1. Pick up at least 2-3 Beystadiums from Walmart/Toys-R-Us/wherever.
2. Buy 8-10 different burst beys. Hasbro is fine for this purpose. Between the costs if stadiums and beys (make sure you buy enough to have at least 4 launchers, green or white things with ripcords), I expect this will run you at least $100 Canadian. Less if everyone brings their own beys instead, but kids without will need some provided. Beyblade is not a cheap hobby.
3. Have each match between participants be a first to 3 points match. Outspins worth 1 point, knockouts worth 1 point, bursts worth 2 points.
4. Either just let them play freely, or structure a small round robin or single elimination tournament. Round robin will take you way longer than an hour.

Even if you have cheaper fusion beys, ensure they come with launchers.
