[Answered]  Bey parts restriction

Would tournaments be looking to follow takara tomy rules in docking points for certain PARTS. If not then why not. Just curious
This is a frequently asked question in the west. The answer: WBO doesn't have the rule. There are many misconceptions about the "Limited Rule". The "Limited Rule" was used for ONE tournament in Japan, only during the "1on1 Battle" format qualifiers for the "Tobu Zoo Cup". It's never been used again, and was never seen in any other Takara Tomy region.

The reason for the "Limited Rule" and the "Own Finish" was publicity. The "Tobu Zoo Cup" event was highly publicized, and Takara Tomy invited many foreign journalists to cover the event and advertise Beyblade X. It would look pretty boring if every single Beyblade being used was the same PhoenixWing or WizardRod combo - but it would also look pretty bad if those parts were banned. Instead, Takara Tomy made a workaround to discourage the use of meta combos, to make Beyblade X look more fun and diverse for the journalists attending. Some judges at the event weren't even aware the "Limited Rule" was a thing.

The "Limited Rule" was also only applied during "1on1 Battle" format, and did not apply for the finals, which was played in "3on3 Battle" with a deck of 3 Beys.

With this context, it becomes obvious why the rule hasn't been used by Takara Tomy since, or why WBO doesn't really see it widely used. It was a rule meant for advertising and not game balance. On the WBO side, most players do not have an issue with any of the Limited Parts. People that do have issues with parts like WizardRod would rather just straight up ban the part, instead of doing a half-measure that is the Limited Rule.

WBO also plays 3on3 Battle and Deck Battle regularly. In this case, the issue of people using the same combos for 1on1 Battle formats is not as widespread.
