[Answered]  Advice on facing Shark Scale (How do I get good?)

So this is my first post ever, I've been to two Beyblade tournaments so far and just recently got into Beyblade X.  The first went went well and I placed 8th out of 16 which is a win for me. The second one I was 22nd out of 32, but consistently would get just absolutely demolished by Shark Scale every time it came around. I actually lost in my first round of that tournament 5-0 because of it (extreme finish + Burst finish) which can be understandably demoralizing.

I only have had the Hasbro stadium, so I haven't practiced much in regards to Launch tech, but just general tips on Countering Shark Scale or your experiences against it would be greatly helpful. I use a the ripcord Launcher for Scorpio Spear with no extra attachments if that makes any difference (I noticed alot of people used grips at tournaments and some even had level attachments with the beypass).

The current Deck I have is as follows:
Scorpio Spear 9-60 Freeball
Golemn Rock 3-60 Wedge
Pheonix Wing 1-60 Kick
Tbh my last tournament I went against shark scale and the one combo I made had my opponent worry and he even took it for a spin I used a keel shark 9-60 gear flat the GF helps with grip and so the keel shark doesn’t have too much recoil and if you can pair that with good launch technique it’s a power house for extreme finishes.

I had a few other people test it and they was shocked from the performance I think it was one I made for practice and I ended up using for a tournament due to almost getting perfect control the aim of this is to shut down the opponent soon as without self k.o due to keel shark light weight and massive recoil affect its easy to self k.o but the GF helps.

I hope this helps I had many opponents surprised with the results it show when practicing a certain combo especially one people don’t expect to see due to newer Beyblade releases it’s good to know the original X beys can still humble new heavier beys.

For launcher I use a Tamara to it launched normal length ripcord as I can already use for the power however if you too much power it becomes unpredictable so choose the launcher you use wisely.

Happy blading

I might for the 4-55 to run Golem on a lower height, but I prefer playing defense types. I'm considering swapping phoenix for silver wolf for later tournaments, but I'm more so looking for what should I be looking for or aiming to do in a match up with SharkScale.

Should I be trying to avoid contact until later on, soft launch vs a hard launch, like what should I be taking into consideration in that match up? I saw a lot of it (showed up in 5 out of 6 of my 6 matches) at my last tournament and almost every time ended in an over or Burst finish (extreme in the case of my first match). Or even just what have other peoples experience been with the little ratchet biter that is shark scale.

This was super helpful to read through, thank you!
In my tournament everyone had all the fancy attachments however when I spent the week practicing I used the standard Tamara Tony launcher with no attachments the best thing to do practice with your line up and set yourself for success and remember have fun.

When you show Beyblade a if you look and take note of your opponents set up before launch and try new styles of shooting if they have stamina set up try for knock out if they have attack use a launch to avoid attacks from the to last or set yourself for attack later and defensive aim for high power knock outs of burst finish try figure how you can use your beys to achieve these results and just keep at it.

Your combo is one part.
Launch counts more.

You can’s achieve desired results just practice till you get where you need to be.
Wizard Rod 1-60 Low Rush or Hexa beats Shark consistently. YouTube some of those matchups and you’ll see what I mean. WiRo can consistently bounce back and forth where shark wants to accelerate causing easy pocket shots.
If you're looking for defensive combos, Leon Crest seems to stand up pretty well from my experience since it's got decent stamina and can withstand some hard attacks. 9-60 or 7-60 on hexa/dot/point have all had pretty good and fairly consistent results, but I've even seen some running on 1-60 and flat/low flat/gear flat for more aggressive movement, might need to experiment to see what you like best.

I think 160 760 560 and 360 low rush is the best combo for golem rock
