Well, I told you it was coming ... maybe it's about ten members late, but here it is anyway! In celebration of us hitting 1000 members, I am proud to present to you WBOV2!
So, isn't it beautiful? I wanted to create something that really embodied the feeling of Beyblade. Going back and forth between this layout and the old one, the old one feels really dull and lifeless by comparison. I hope you all enjoy the new look!
Aside from aesthetic changes though, there are some important things to discuss.
First of all, Release 4 of the WBO Rule Book is out now. It's a complete overhaul in structure and a lot of it has been rewritten with a lot of new rule additions, so make sure you read through the whole thing! One of the most exciting new additions is that ... yes, it's official!
Restricted Format is now available for Plastic and Heavy Metal System Beyblades! There is no restricted list available for MFB yet, but it's definitely something we are looking towards later on in the development of MFB. For now, I know a lot of you were clamoring for a final version of this, and now you have it.
I'll build on the feedback from this rule book release and we should hopefully be able to put out Release 5 before the end of May. This is moreso a "beta" version of the new rules format. Thanks for all of your contributions to this release, and I hope we can make the next one even better!
I know that I promised Tournament Kits for managing WBO events, and I'll be honest; they're not done yet. Expect to see them in the next month or so, so they can be ready to go out with Release 5 of the rule book.
Onto other stuff. The "World Battle System" is no more. Well, OK, it's the same thing, but it's been simply renamed "BeyPoints" on the menu. However, we do have an authorization system in place now to prevent cheating. You can read about how to do it here. Seriously, read it right now. I'll wait.
... done? OK, great! I imagine you're probably feeling quite conflicted right now. Let it be known that we are absolutely not trying to exclude anybody with this decision, but we figure that everyone at least knows someone with a digital camera or a member who's trusted in the community. We just want to keep the rankings fair for everyone, and this is a great way to do it.
For those of you already using BeyPoints, you'll have to do this process as well. I know a lot of the current users know some rather highly-trusted individuals in the community, so if you need to talk about it please send me a PM.
WBO Organized Play has its own section now! Jawesome! It's been split into WBO General and Official Events. The whole thing is pretty self-explanatory, so I'll leave you to it.
Speaking of events! For those of you living on the west coast, Vancouver Beyblade Summit has been confirmed! So if you're interested in hanging out with me and shooting spin tops and eating pizza (okay, no promises, but I wouldn't mind? It could be like a date) it might be worth your while to travel whatever egregious distance I'm sure you'd have to.
Don't forget about Beyblade War Room and Beyblade Spinoff! Both of these events are going full steam ahead!
A note to Aussies, we're working on getting something organized there, so post in this topic if you're living in Australia and love Beyblade!
I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but frankly I doubt most of you have read up until this point any way. I'm sure some flaws are going to pop up over the next few days, and for me nothing is ever really truly finished, so expect me to keep working on this stuff. However, the worst of it is over (thankfully!), so I hope you all enjoy the fruits of our labour.
