Well, I told you it was coming ... maybe it's about ten members late, but here it is anyway! In celebration of us hitting 1000 members, I am proud to present to you WBOV2!

So, isn't it beautiful? I wanted to create something that really embodied the feeling of Beyblade. Going back and forth between this layout and the old one, the old one feels really dull and lifeless by comparison. I hope you all enjoy the new look!

Aside from aesthetic changes though, there are some important things to discuss.

First of all, Release 4 of the WBO Rule Book is out now. It's a complete overhaul in structure and a lot of it has been rewritten with a lot of new rule additions, so make sure you read through the whole thing! One of the most exciting new additions is that ... yes, it's official!

Restricted Format is now available for Plastic and Heavy Metal System Beyblades! There is no restricted list available for MFB yet, but it's definitely something we are looking towards later on in the development of MFB. For now, I know a lot of you were clamoring for a final version of this, and now you have it.

I'll build on the feedback from this rule book release and we should hopefully be able to put out Release 5 before the end of May. This is moreso a "beta" version of the new rules format. Thanks for all of your contributions to this release, and I hope we can make the next one even better!

I know that I promised Tournament Kits for managing WBO events, and I'll be honest; they're not done yet. Expect to see them in the next month or so, so they can be ready to go out with Release 5 of the rule book.

Onto other stuff. The "World Battle System" is no more. Well, OK, it's the same thing, but it's been simply renamed "BeyPoints" on the menu. However, we do have an authorization system in place now to prevent cheating. You can read about how to do it here. Seriously, read it right now. I'll wait.

... done? OK, great! I imagine you're probably feeling quite conflicted right now. Let it be known that we are absolutely not trying to exclude anybody with this decision, but we figure that everyone at least knows someone with a digital camera or a member who's trusted in the community. We just want to keep the rankings fair for everyone, and this is a great way to do it.

For those of you already using BeyPoints, you'll have to do this process as well. I know a lot of the current users know some rather highly-trusted individuals in the community, so if you need to talk about it please send me a PM.

WBO Organized Play has its own section now! Jawesome! It's been split into WBO General and Official Events. The whole thing is pretty self-explanatory, so I'll leave you to it.

Speaking of events! For those of you living on the west coast, Vancouver Beyblade Summit has been confirmed! So if you're interested in hanging out with me and shooting spin tops and eating pizza (okay, no promises, but I wouldn't mind? It could be like a date) it might be worth your while to travel whatever egregious distance I'm sure you'd have to.

Don't forget about Beyblade War Room and Beyblade Spinoff! Both of these events are going full steam ahead!

A note to Aussies, we're working on getting something organized there, so post in this topic if you're living in Australia and love Beyblade!

I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but frankly I doubt most of you have read up until this point any way. I'm sure some flaws are going to pop up over the next few days, and for me nothing is ever really truly finished, so expect me to keep working on this stuff. However, the worst of it is over (thankfully!), so I hope you all enjoy the fruits of our labour.
This new layout is absolutely brilliant, hope every one enjoys it!
I'd just like to point out to everyone that Brad has spent nearly 12 hours + a day working on this over the last few weeks. The layout, the banner, the buttons, everything took several days for him to get just right. None of what you're seeing is from a pre-made template. A lot of what he's done here is completely revolutionary for the software that he's working with.
He also completely re-did the rules completely from scratch, rewrote ALL of the help files, and added some pretty cool features!

I really get the feeling sometimes that a lot of you don't realize or respect everything he does for this community. He is working on the boards from shortly after he gets up until very late at night, often until after 3am. He does all of this for love of the community. Brad does not make any money off of this. He pays for as much as he possibly can out of pocket- the rest being paid for by donations.

I think you guys owe him a huge amount of respect and gratitude. You can all thank him is by listening and respecting what he says, even though sometimes it might not make much sense. He knows what he is doing and every single decision he makes here is for the long-term good of the community. You can thank him by attending events that you say you will, because every time someone skips out it's like they're telling him they have no respect for everything he has done for this community and Beyblade worldwide. Every single cent that gets donated goes right back into the community, something you'll really be seeing as Brad launches more of the amazing features he has planned, and the fantastic events coming up all over the world. You guys want cool prizes? Donate! It's really that easy.

Brad is an incredibly generous person for everything he's done and put into this project, and you are all incredibly lucky to have him working with you.
:') Thank you so much for that. I couldn't have gotten it all done without you bringing me tea all the time.

...And hot chocolate, and giving you second opinions on banners/buttons...
Thanks Brad for all your hard work, And I think the new Beypoint rule is great and should get rid off the cheating completely.
This is awesome Brad! everything looks much better, the buttons are lovely. Thank you, Brad. What we could do without you? This place never ceases to amaze me, it always grow. Unsmith

Now I really wish I can enter WBO tournament...
This is an awsome thing to wake up to!
I really really like it Grin
Ah, you guys make my hard work all worth it Smile

It's 3 AM here ... I'll sleep well tonight ... then tomorrow, it's back to work.

Don't most forum images use gradients? Flat colours look pretty dull and gloss doesn't really work for this site.
Thanks for everything brad i havnt been with this community for long but i wont take what uve done for granted and il be part of this community for a very long time. Great layout.
Oh my I just realized the background! Even more awesome!

it's new haha
Thanks Brad. I love it Joyful_3
I think my head just imploded. It is absolutely brilliant Brad; an awesome thing to wake up in the morning to. I really appreciate all the effort you put into this site, allowing us beyblade fans to congregate on. You seriously have outdone yourself yet again, and deserve my respect, a pat on the back, and a giant freakin' wad of cash.

Now excuse me as I go stare all the pretty buttons. Expect some financial love (probably not giant but still what I can do) in June like I promised.

i could go for a wad of cash
This is freakin' awesome. Love it <3 Nice work Brad and thanks for all your hard work.
Everyone woke up to a new layout? I woke up to 'go do something else'. XD

Still, when I first got on at break (people were staring because I had this massive stupid grin on my face because Brad's enthusiasm is so damn contagious XD) I was on my phone so the layout didn't how up properly and I didn't bother with letting the graphics load because I wanted to see what everyone was saying. Then my phone accidentally loaded half of the 'post reply' button. Which is pretty damn epic btw. And so of course I was stuck with seeing half of a button and wondering what the rest was like for like 2 hours. It was torture. XD

Uh anyways, it's bloody amazing Brad. You even changed the background! Gasp Not really much I can say that hasn't been said, will be said anyways and/or is incredibly cheesy. When I think about it I've only been here a little while but this is definitely my fave forum to be on. I don't actually go on many others anymore because it's so nice here. So thanks for all your hard work. I would give you a massive, massive hug but we're bazillions of miles away and it might creep you out a little anyways. XD But whatever, *virtual huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuug* Grin
Wonderful job with the logo/banner. I'm glad the gradient wasn't used, again, great job mate!

Quote:You did use the gradient, just not in the banner. Ah, you and your lovely gradients...

He used it on buttons which doesn't bother me. The banner doesn't however, the use of the innder shadow makes it look as if there is a gradient =D. Using a gradient without using a gradient.

One little thing I don't like is the fact there is no option to hide the side bar and no option to mark all forums as read. I like to clear everything once I have read what I want to read. Any chance of you adding these bits back in.
seriously this is the best site i have ever seen now
HELL YES!
Congrats WBO!

Awesome new site layout as well. Smile
Wow, all I can say, just walked in from a pretty ok day at school and this made my day Grin

Mmm you had mentioned something in a previous topic that you weren't going to use any gradients. Maybe you were referring specifically to the banner, or maybe my memory is serving me incorrectly. :?

There are a few ways around gradients to give it body.
Wow, this new layout is awesome! Thanks Brad! Smile
