Name: King/Queen of Blades
[Image: m757ah.jpg]
Date: July 20, 2011 - Wednesday
I plan to have this tournament at 1PM and free play from 12pm-1pm. I will hold the tournament back an hour (maximum) if some bladers are stuck in traffic. Please eat lunch before you arrive. Once the 2nd round starts, I will not be accepting any entrants. If you are not present, when i call your usernames, you will lose by default. I can postpone your match if you are in the bathroom however that is the only exception. it is important to let me know ahead of time. the longest i can postpone is at the end of the round. any longer, you get a loss by default. If you postpone and you are the last battle for the round, i will wait ONLY for 15 minutes. it's more than enough time.
Venue: Kings Games 2nd floor (Please click for directions or use google maps)
1685 East 15 Street
Brooklyn, NY 11229
MY CONTACT NUMBER
(516) 428-6361
Don't call me unless it's an emergency or you're stuck in traffic. If you need directions, look online. do it now and write it down. I have no sense of direction so i would be pretty useless in terms of direction if you asked last minute.
Fees:
have passport + store fee = $5
buying passport + store fee = $15
WBO Entrance fee + store fee = $10

Expected Turnout: 30-50 people
Format: Unseeded double elimination
Prize system: store credit - it will be run by Deikailo who will possibly be selling beyblades as well (as i have been told by her in the Kings Games thread)
I AM GOING BY THE BOOK SO NO ONE COMPLAIN! I WANT TO STAY ORGANIZED!

Can the following people judge?
Deikailo
The Problem

Keep noted that i will be keeping track of who judged what match... so before the match even starts, let me know which match you are judging. This is so i can double check if there is any error.
Let me know if you can. if you can't, let me know and i will remove your name from the list.

wats a resonable time that this would and because if it can end at 3 or 3:30 and i might be able to go to 4 then i can make it.

Joseph, what do you mean? i can't understand your sentence. XD

I will be bring Scythe Kronos to sell.

hey how much are you selling them for? or do you not know...
ok, considering that we might not have a lot of people and everyone cooperates, this will be a relatively fast tournament. I'm prepared for both round robin and double elimination so depending on how many shows up, it'll most likely be round robin. if the recommended judges can't make it, i'll sub with experienced bladers. i will review everything with my judges beforehand and make sure they understand the rules as i am registering people (obviously when the huge mass of people die down).

$35 dollars each. Also, what town do you live in? I need to know so I can plot my route.

Sky, I might be a half hour or an hour late, depending. I'm going to do my best to avoid that, but I need to replace the seats in my car before hand.

Just a suggestion, but if we get 15 people or less, we should do full round robin. I am a huge fan of full round and for anyone who has not done it in full, trust me, it's well worth the time. Doing full round robin also makes it easier to add late comers so if you find only ten people showed up by 1:30-ish, you can start and add every who shows up late mid-way through, as long as nobody already left.
i may be attending the tournament with my bud flame aries.
i am coming to the tournament

As if anyone thought you wouldn't be there LOL

Does the upstairs have air conditioning??? LOL No....seriously!! LOLOL
Guys

I just read the entire post.

Sky, thank you for hosting this. My son and I (remember, this is Killer's dad LOL) have been to three and they are definitely tough to pull off because the host has to concentrate on running the tourney as well as keeping everyone in line. Groups of people or gatherings, if you prefer, tend to get loud and all the several conversations going on simultaneously are the biggest reason why they can be difficult and take so long to complete.

That being said, a host picks what day is good for him/her and this is based on what is available, not entirely, but it is a big part of it. The date is set. You either can make it or you can hear about it from people that can. Asking for changes is really not that big of a deal. It just seems that getting the answer "no" is.

There was one in NYC a couple weeks back and that did not work for us at all, but it was what it was. I never thought about asking for a different time simply because (are you all paying attention???) it wasn't my tourney.

NO ONE is being called out here. Host your own and you will see how much work it is.

C-yas tomorrow!!

This is exactly what Sky and I were trying to explain. Thank you for touching that up.

Actually, I'm adamantly trying to avoid Brooklyn, but I have to go to the Precinct (again) so I might as well go.

Yes, it does have central air conditioning, they are just stingy with using it (because those nerds need fresh air). They should have turned it on by now.

I have your $10. I'm sorry for not sending it out. I'll recite my sob story to you tomorrow.

Hopefully, I'll be able to relax at this event. I would prefer not to judge if at all possible.
don't worry dani, you don't have to judge i'll just have to sub with other experienced bladers.
and thank you killerspinner for understanding. i gratefully appreciate it.
Dani, if you ever get caught in traffic, you can call my cell and let me know. like i said, if anyone is caught in traffic, call me. i'll hold the tournament back for an hour (max). i'm getting minutes for my cell tomorrow so people can call me the day of the tournament and notify me.
a full round robin is easy. there's a website that can set that up for me in only a few seconds..... http://challonge.com/tournament/bracket_generator
yay, its tomorrow. sky, get ready for the power of the shadow X!!! and whats round robin?

i need to know wat time the tournament will end. if the tournament ends before 4:00 then i can make it and i can go 4:30 too.
There is no way to tell if the tournament will be over by then. The most we can do is rush your matches.
round robin means you play everyone and try and get as many wins as possible to make it into the finals or winner of your bracket.
That's block round robin. Full round robin means whoever has the most wins, wins the tournament.

yikes, i wouldnt like that to happen
It's actually a great way to play because you get to play more rounds. I normally place whenever it's full round robin because when I see that I'm losing, my will power helps me to win.
The chances of me going just went from a 100 to a 50
Seeing more people are using attack,Im going to stop using Basalt Bull 230AS for a while,Im probably goin use attack for this one.

Actually chances of winning a tournament without even having it started yet could never be 100%,you'll never know
