Newbies need help to buy first Beyblades for son - bleybade - Oct. 29, 2020

Hi there,

my son (7 years) wants to buy his first arena and Beyblades and more or less randomly picked some from Amazon.
As he had to save quite a while to afford them I wanted to check that his selection actually works together before sending out the order and found that the world of Beyblade is a lot more complicated than I thought.
I have to admit I do not fully understand it and my son does neither, so I hoped you guys could help me out with a quick look into the products and see if this makes sense as a starter pack.

The products he picked:

- Ogre O5 & Rock Dragon D5 Dual Pack (https://beyblade.fandom.com/wiki/Ogre_O5_%26_Rock_Dragon_D5_Dual_Pack)

- SwitchStrike Starter Pack Kreisel Beyblade Orichalcum O3, E5953ES0 (https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07MY1JCY2)

- HyperSphere Beystadium (https://beyblade.fandom.com/wiki/HyperSphere_Beystadium)

My concerns:
- Do the products work together at all? Looks like they were from different systems (HyperSphere vs. SwitchStrike)
- Do we have to consider the different rotating directions or does it not matter?
- Is the arena ok? Costs so much less then the other arenas we found.

Thank you all for your help and sympathy for a family of noobs :)

The arena is ok everything is good the only concern is switchstrike may scrape on the stadium and that isn’t that bad it’s just it will slow down its speed by a bit which you could say make it kind of less fun. But everything else is fine.

RE: Newbies need help to buy first Beyblades for son - 6Jupiter5 - Oct. 29, 2020

They all spin the same direction (right), and the arena is very fun. The parts are interchangeable, I would recommend looking at unboxing videos as well to help with you’re descision.

The spin direction matter, but if they are from the brand Hasbro, they usually come with a dual spin launcher, L is for left, R is for right
I would recommend the HyperSphere beystadium, if it comes with the tops
they work together, but there are different brands
the official are Hasbro and Takara Tomy
try not to mix the tips of those two
but yes, with other beyblades they work together, but they have an extra part called chips
the chips only works with "gamma" beys, or most of the beys that comes with the generation hypersphere

and if the stadium is cheaper than ususal, it may not come with beys
if it does not come with beys he can buy them
dual packs usualy cost 14
the stadium with no beys usually costs 10
a normal stadium (that comes with tops) costs 30-50

Its better buying the orange stadium and a dual pack

(sorry if I made it more confusing)

Lol no they’re not. Everwish only prices their beys that low because that’s the price BEFORE shipping. When you add shipping prices in, you’ve paid about the same you pay anywhere else for a Takara Tomy Beyblade.

I find some of them for around 20 dollars on Amazon. Happy to provide links.

Thank you all for your help!

My son is only looking for fun playing with his classmates or me Wink

One last concern I forgot to mention:
If I see it right the packs only contain one launcher (in the Switchstrike Orichalcum).
Do these typically work for all Blades of the same company (Hasbro)? Or is it better to have more than one anyway to be able to start to blades simultaneously? In this case, what would be the best way: Are they sold separately or should I be looking out for a different pack with a starter?

All hasbro launchers work for other hasbro beys. As long as you have two launchers in total your fine.

Yes, starters only contain one launcher. Two launchers only come in Beyblade battle sets. All launchers for the burst line of Beyblade are compatible with each other. Just make sure you are using the same spin type on the launcher and the Beyblade. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the Hasbro launchers since they break a bit often and they are small. Takara Tomy sells great launchers separately though. If you are thinking of having another launcher which would last for a long time.  I would point you in the direction of Takara-Tomy's light ripcord launcher or LR ripcord launchers that come in starters. I personally use the first-generation sword launcher for right spin. It has lasted me years and is powerful. I use the LR String launcher from Master Diabolos for left spin. This is my second one for the year and it is prone to breaking if not used properly. I wouldn't recommend it for beginners or kids. It would be better if you have two launchers since the person who launches second usually wins. If possible, I would purchase the "Epic Rivals Battle Set" by Hasbro. It includes 2 launchers, 2 Beyblades and a very good stadium. Takara Tomy though makes Beyblades, launchers, stadiums, and sets which are far better than Hasbro but they are usually pricey. Check out this website: https://four-gaming.com/ They are actually going to start international shipping today. They sell great Takara-Tomy products for a cheaper price compared to other sellers.

I have a 7 year old as well. We have the orange beystadium amongst others and we really don't use it. Sure the white and blue is more expensive but its more fun and bare in mind you get two beyblades and two launchers that come with it.

RE: Newbies need help to buy first Beyblades for son - Regalia pheonix - Nov. 17, 2020

The things your getting are great my only recommendation is that you should buy from beys and. Bricks also they give you a lot of beys cheaper and beys that aren’t on Amazon and second make sure they never launch them anywhere except a stadium or chaos and broken parts will appear

#not sponsored lol
And you Amazon is still also good

But it also sell fakes
You have to check that it says Habro or Takara Tomy
dont buy the ones that say unbranded

RE: Newbies need help to buy first Beyblades for son - Regalia pheonix - Nov. 17, 2020

True but that also goes with Amazon
(They sell more off brand than beys & bricks)

Yeah in the details of the product it will say this is not a bad to or tt it is a third party manufacturer if it’s off brand so always check to make sure it will save you 100s of dollars and it would have saved 100s for me to

RE: Newbies need help to buy first Beyblades for son - bleybade - Nov. 30, 2020

thank you for all your helpful advise!

We finally went with
- Orichalcum O3 (https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07MY1JCY2)
- Slingshock Cross Collision Battle Set (https://www.amazon.de/BEY-BLADE-E5565EU4-Collision-Multicolour/dp/B07M935LSJ)

My son is really happy and enjoys the battles a lot. The only thing I noticed is that the two beyblades that came with the set stand no chance against the Orichalcum. This stamina type mostly ignores all attack attempts and just keeps spinning until the others all have given up.

So now come christmas we´d like to expand his collection by some beyblades that actually have a chance of winning against the Orichalcum.
Are there any beyblades you can recommend, that are equally strong as the Orichalcum?
