Updated Terms of Service & Organizer Agreement (Project AIDA) - Kei - Jun. 07, 2020 Hello World Bladers, In the spirit of full transparency, we wanted to announce that we have recently made an update to the Terms of Service for worldbeyblade.org by Fighting Spirits Inc. alongside the initial updates associated with Project AIDA. Acceptance Required to Continue Using worldbeyblade.org
Why update the Terms of Service? The key goals of these updated Terms of Service are to make them both more comprehensive while also being easier to understand. Our previous terms of service had not been updated since our inception over a decade ago and were in fact simply the default terms of the software we use (MyBB) to run the forum. They were also a long block of text that was difficult to read. In the time since we became worldbeyblade.org and Fighting Spirits Inc., things have changed substantially. With regards to the service we offer through our platform (www.worldbeyblade.org), it has slowly become clearer that we need to make our level of responsibility and liability as a volunteer-based not-for-profit organization more explicit. It should be in line with who we actually are and what we are reasonably capable of under these constraints. We encourage all users to thoroughly read the Terms of Service in order to make an informed decision as to whether to accept them or not. Additional Related Updates Organizer's Guide: All Participants Must Have worldbeyblade.org Accounts Before Event Begins We have removed the section from the Organizer's Guide which permitted Organizers to create accounts for participants after the conclusion of an event with their e-mails. Any person wishing to participate in an offical event must have a worldbeyblade.org account prior to being formally registered for an event. This ensures that they have physically agreed to our Terms of Service themselves and helps to protect both yourself and all parties involved with running the event. If your event participants do not all have worldbeyblade.org accounts prior to the conclusion of registration for your event, you will be assessed a warning or lose your Organizer status in accordance with the "Organizer Violations" section of our updated Community Rules. You can find further instructions about how to help people create worldbeyblade.org accounts in the Organizer's Guide under Tournament Management -> Registration. Event Creation Page: New Organizer Agreement Checkbox Implemented Additionally, we have also added in a new checkbox to the event creation page for all Organizers. Organizers are required to check it when creating any event to confirm their continued agreement with our Terms of Service and the included Organizer Agreement. June 30th, 2020 Update For safety and legal reasons, the following items have been added to the Registration Agreement, Terms of Service, and Event Pages:
