I'm pretty sure he serves the same purpose as Young Link did in SSBM.
Aka, exact clone of Adult Link only shorter and a bit speedier.
I could be wrong though.
Toon Link is a Link clone. Not all of their moves are the same though. Toon Link is also looking to be one of the best characters in the game while big link is lulz.

He's fast and has great combo ability. And a leet bair.
Nobody can say who the best in the game are going to be this early, but it's pretty safe to say toon link doesn't suck.

Lol, am I the only one who had a lot of difficulty doing the 100-Man Brawl? I kept dieing around the 7-20 enemy range. D: I eventually beat it though and unlocked Falco.
If I am not mistaken, too unlock Toon Link you have to beat classic mode with Link. I did this several times and I haven't unlocked him.
Seems as if Nintendo is having
some problems with SSBB online right now. I suppose its to be expected though considering how popular the game is.
