For companies, hobbies are an orientation aid in the application process. They provide information about the character and abilities of the candidate, with resume services you can create your own resume. But not every hobby is equally meaningful. It is usually only worth mentioning what sets you apart from the crowd or demonstrates special talents. “Reading”, “watching TV” or “doing something with friends” are usually not included.

• Hobbies with a social status: sailing, golf or polo are prestigious and, above all, expensive leisure activities. They signal that the applicant moves in high circles. The applicant may bring contacts from this environment into the employment relationship as a future business partner (check your application with fix my resume). HR professionals therefore see them as a promising investment for the company.
• Community service: Volunteers are considered committed and frugal. Above all, HR professionals expect their employment to be loyal employees who do not allow themselves to be discouraged by stressful phases and overtime.
