series embarassments (crappy sequals)

You know that retarded, short-bus riding cousin that shows up at family reunions, who nobody likes and everyone pretends their not related to? well there are many games that share the same effect. In nearly every series of games there exists an odd ball. zelda has the CDI games, castlevania has "castlevania 2" mario has "mario is missing" and so on. not everyone has played every great series of games so i think we can save ourselves alot of trouble by discussing them here so we know what games to avoid.
This is......interesting actually. However, I'm not sure I've ever played a game I don't enjoy. When it comes to games, I have a pretty long attention span and I can normally find one aspect of the game that I find amusing/interesting/exciting. ^^;
What is an embarassment is your spelling of sequel. I kid, I kid.

Alone In The Dark: The New Nightmare was very mediocre. Atleast with Alone 2008 we got the PS3 version which is actually a good game.

Iceburn to Roan
i got one. double dragon 3. avgn did a reveiw of this game. its impossible. you get no extra lives. if you die once you are dead. that wouldnt be a problem if the controls werent so crippled. i regret to say i do own the game. i cant post a link to the avgn reveiw right now becuase im on a psp but ill post it later once im on my lap top.
Final Fantasy 2 and 8.

Thankfully the much better 3, and 9 came out after both of them.
(And I must say, Castlevania 2 Simon's Quest isn't THAT bad, I'd say the real embarrassment is Dracula X on the SNES, which is a pretty inferior 'port' of the real Dracula X, Rondo of Blood)
Paperboy 2
I heard devil may cry 2 was bad.how bad?real bad.

this is correct
i honestly dont see how twilight princess fits into the list. it received great reveiws and it was pretty epic. if theres a blight in the zelda series it would definitely be the 3 philips CDI games.

the game critic industry is completely under zelda's spell and it will take a lot to break that

then would you tell me exactly what makes it a bad game?

Playing as a Wolf is completely annoying and full of useless "find X amount of items to proceed, oh and by the way don't even think about opening a door!", the game was too easy, the puzzles were boring, the game felt completely lifeless and unoriginal and compared to Wind Waker, Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time, there was nothing that made this game "pop" other than the graphics, which were marred by an uninspired art style.

i think people are missing the point of this topic. im talking about games that were just mindbendingly horrible. if game has a few flaws that doesnt mean its a terrible sequel. ratchet 4 deadlocked had a bunch of problems but its still a decent game.

in that case

puzzle quest: galactrix
I would say TLOZ: Twilight Princess as well, but I think Phantom Hourglass fits much better. I don't consider it a zelda game. It was even easier and the graphics were just nasty, even for the NDS. They should have made they camera change views a little more and land, because it felt like a Minish Cap with bad graphics to me. There was nothing spectacular added to the game, either (it's like the controls were the only new thing for it, we were expecting more than that, since it was pretty obvious we would be using the touch screen since it was a DS game). The controls were cool and all, but they don't make up for everything else.

I do agree fully with Brad about Twilight Princess, though. I've heard it's a much better experience on the Wii? I have no clue, though. The spinning top item and getting those light drop thingies really killed the game for me. It would have been okay otherwise.

Oh, and about every Pokemon game after G/S/C, especially Diamond Pearl, and even moreso Platinum.
hey man minish cap was awesome
I know, but it was easy. The graphics were the best part of it (and music but yeah), PH had neither.
