World of Warcraft goes Free to Play...sort of.

Yes. You heard right. World of Warcraft is now free to play, but not 100% free to play like Dungeon Fighter.

What Blizzard has done is expand the use of their Trial accounts, so now, instead of only being able to play for 14 days before your account must be upgraded, you can now play as much as you want, and with as many characters as you want, up to level 20. The mess of restrictions such as No Guild Creation and No Party Building are still in effect since these are trial accounts, so this may be good for soloist players who just want to see what all the fuss is about for a few characters.

As an ex WoW player, this sounds like a good idea for Blizzard with The Old Republic on the way. A Bioware MMO is sure to get some money from fans, so long as it's not too ridiculous in terms of fees and has enough content.

What about the rest of you? Is this Free to Play thing a good idea? Are you going to look into this because of that? Is Deathwing the most overpowered thing in online gaming? Discuss.
