2. Expand why you want to aspire to be <insert profession>.
3. Talking about life situation which made you change mind on your current/future profession is allowed.
4. If you currently have a profession and you do not mind sharing then that would be nice.

So basically i'm interested in what you lot aspire to be when you grow up, finish your education or change your current profession. The benefit of this thread is going back to what you wrote and see if what you aspire to do now will be the same in the future. I'm also predicting that the older the forum users, the more realistic the aspired profession is.

I'll start, I want to go into the IT industry and do programming, create database or basically anything IT related. I want to do this because, I'm currently studying IT at the moment; and after watching "Social Networks" i'm more motivated in IT than before.
I'm aiming to be a Graphic Designer. Generally logo design or anything related to it. I've liked it since I was around 12. I realized that I'm only above average at drawing (so that's not a career option), and that logo design is a bigger creative outlet for me than just drawing. I'm currently in high school taking a Graphic Design course. I know it's kinda ironic that I don't have a sig or an avatar, but that's because I'm so busy with school and other things.
i want to be a lawyer & Agriculturist
I'm planning to become a Lawyer, or even a Historian.
Taking Law and Ancient History, gettin' 94+ which is good.
Probably will go to some up-scale Law School if I get to be that good. :]
Im possibly going to be a teacher, maybe a band teacher or math teacher ect. If not, then some other academic based job lol
Astronaut.

I've been wanting to be one ever since I was 4, as I'd love to see outside of earth. Plus I always get the highest grades in Science. I plan to be a Mission Specialist because I don't plan on going to the army and learning 1000 hours of flight.

But I have tons of Plan B's, C's, D's, etc. If I don't become one I'll probably be a Bboy or a Tennis Player.
An actor. I know that it's a hard profession to get into, but ever since first grade I've wanted to be one. I love plays and movies, musicals, the whole lot (I even like to write them Smile). Either that, or an English teacher, which retains theatrical base and a love of writing!
Honestly I dont if this fits under this topic. But my career I never thought I would end up in. in fact I didn’t even know it existed as a actual career till I got out of high school. I used to be into weird stuff like animal furs and skulls, but didn’t think anything of it.

Now I’m a Taxidermist and I know how to create game mounts and reproductions of living animals. To me its not enough anymore. Doing some work in the taxidermy field I could only use what other people have made out for use. And I want to to be able to actually create everything on my own down to molding the body of animals I am working with and making unique spectacular works. To me making something no longer alive look alive is my work of art. Its my dream XD

either way someones got to do it. hehehe
I want to major in some field of engineering, as I do exceptionally well in sciences and excel in maths, but at this point I am pretty uncertain as to what I want to do in the distant future. Right now I just want to finish high school and in the meanwhile become decent at ping-pong.
Criminologist

I really like the whole crime and law division but when I read a couple dissertations on the subjectand It completely enthralled me.
I've always aspired to be a writer; I think anyone who knows me here probably already knew that though.

I took a few detours along the way. I originally went to college with a degree in Journalism in mind, and that just didn't suit me or really pan out. Then I went to school for about a year to get a degree in Graphic Design until I realized that there are too many people in that field and not nearly enough jobs for them all.

So, now I'm back on the track to getting my English degree and seeing where that might take me.

Good choice on that, my friend just finished her Eng degree and she recently went off to teach in KR (lucky bugger), with that degree you can get a job in teaching in foreign countries nicely. and that's true about graphics design, i once wanted to be a graphic designer myself but i also noticed that there were even kids out there who had skills i didn't, so i presumed that the profession must have lots of people looking for that job.
A vetenarian or a graphic designer I allways wanted to be a vetenarian since i was 7 i think but this year i decided that i might want to go towards graphic design since i have oppor tunities to do so. WARNING TOTALLY OFF TOPIC> I know, totally random dude wants to be a vet sounds weird right?
4th year student doing my BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) with specialization in Marketing. Ideally upon graduation I would like to enter the field of Marketing or Sales. Work my way through there till I feel I have enough experience. At that point I'll consider graduate studies (MBA) if it's valuable to my career. I'm in that lovely phase where I'm graduating in May and trying to find a job.

If SHTF then I'll look at pursuing graduate studies sooner. Either an MBA (hesitant) or Law. Researching about these fields right now actually.

Ideally my goal is to one day be as successful as my mentor, and this doesn't just involve the financial aspect.
As of now, I'm interested in international business and Business administration/management like Khel.

Much of my family is already in this business, and I already have proposals to work for people haha.
Soccer player... why because i own everybody every1 i at my school... Or football cuz im a realy good running back wich ever kicks in first Wink
I have an art collection, so I might wanna be an artist, but I really have no idea...
My main idea is own a Game Cafe style place, like a cross of Gamestop, Starbucks, and a ton of computers and game systems.

Then I did the math on how much the computers alone would cost... Then realized that's just computers, without bills and even buying the area to do something like it.

Another idea is indie game maker, but I suck at spriting... Maybe this could be just a side job.
I'm enrolled in college for music production. I have a small indie studio open already and a few clients Smile
