WBO x Challonge Beyblade X Season 0 Feedback & Discussion

What I want to know is...is bbx season 0 a name or the only season....
Was checking the ranks and saw something about rankings for BBX Season 1. I assume there will be an announcement about that for the monthly updates right?

All current Ranked X events will be Season 0 for the foreseeable future. Things are still rapidly changing!
Recently I was informed that we are no longer requiring Challonge accounts for X Tournaments in Season 0 which is all well and good but my personal issue is that now I'm on the rankings list twice. Once with my Challonge account and once without it, meaning my wins and loses are split up between them, and at a recent tournament I was put back at a Elo of 1,000 since they weren't using my actual account which had an Elo of 1,034 This isn't the end of the world but it is a tad bit annoying. Will anything be done about this or will there be an announcement about this change in the future? Thanks!

I'm curious about this as the ranks provided a kind of league which was incentive to do well even if you don't win.

Realistically anyone who loses first 2 rounds of Swiss won't make top cut and they may as well pack up rather than playing those additional games as it's not exactly being tracked and going towards overall performance.

It's also going to stagnate the competition side as typically it's going to be the same attendees with the same kind of results.

It now becomes a binary option of be a winner or loser. Even if you go 9 - 1 on the day you're still a loser despite performing well all day. Those first 9 wins are basically moot.

It is very important to remember that for season 0 these rankings are nothing more than testing for the staff to figure out the exact formats needed to be used to have a good cohesive System for the challonge ranking system. The challonge ranking system is new to all of us and we want everything to be figured out by the time we plan to launch season 1. So for season 0 if players have 2 rankings it will be okay, as it won’t really hurt anything. As the organizer of events though you can go back into the challonge and change players names to make them into 1 ranking. However, sometimes challonge can be weird and mess up when you go back to fix or change things. So if you decide to try that approach it very well could end up messing your players rankings up more.

This change was made because when players use their challonge accounts to sign up for the tournaments we were having players that would not sign up through the WBO, or even make WBO accounts. So it was becoming more of a headache for the organizers to cross reference multiple lists to make sure everyone was signed up everywhere. Our organizers are volunteers that use their own resources, time, and energy to make sure all of the players that come to events get to have a good time. We don’t want to make them feel like the hassles aren’t worth hosting events. Also this helps identify who is who on the rankings list as challonge accounts might not have the same name as their WBO accounts.

After taking a step back and reading your reply, it makes a lot of sense actually. I kind of did forget this is more of a demo/early access of sorts. Thanks for the clarification and explanation for my question!

No problem! Thank you for any and all feedback as we continue with the Season 0 Challonge Ranking System Testing.
