Using RF as a Defense bottom.

I have searched and haven't found any threads like this so yeah... Smile

I know that the italian use RF as a Defense bottom and I have been using it too. It doesn't go very fast as I test it with GB145 so I think it should be considered as Defense instead of attack.

TESTING CONDITIONS:
  • Attack Stadium
  • Beylauncher with Grip for both.
  • Defense always launched first at 80% strength with banking.
  • Other Beys launched at full power with banking.
  • RFs slightly worn.
  • All self-KOs and draws redone

Bull wins 95% (19/20)
Draws: 1 (redone).

MF Libra GB145RF wins 18/20 (90%)
Hmm, could you try MF-H/ Earth Bull 85-125CS?

I find with RF, which I'm hoping will apply to CS, if a straight shot is used so as to circle the stadium ridge,it will almost always defeat the RF based opponent with a banking shot/sliding shoot.
Can you take a picture of the RF (Used for the defence combo)? As we might want to see whether its worn or a lil worned.

A New RF Without Run Even 1 Time Is Best RF For Defense. Once The RF Goes Completely Flat, The Condition Next - Nearly RSF is Second Best Condition For RF To Be A Defense Bottom.
Isn't that worned out? Completely flat doesn't move much,so its illegal..

Sorry for bad quality picture. It's slightly worn.
...... its not worn so much........
ill try it out
I actually tried this when you opened this topic up.
It does great against right spin attack, since it sorta dodges them until the attack runs out of spin.
But against left spin it doesnt seem do so hawt, compared to Right spin. I don't have formal tests, but yours seems good. Maybe I'm launching a bit too hard?

I was launching weaker than usual for the defense though
RF as Defense... you gotta be kidding me. It's Stamina will run out easily so most good attack type can outspin it if you were using a balance type stadium or hasbro stadium. How about test solo spin times against other Defense types.
Rather bad idea GaleForce..
The same goes for RS, but RF moves around, grips the stadium etc which is really ideal for defense types. Notice how this wasn't posted in the Hasbro thread..? That means the OP would use a Takara-Tomy BB-10 Attack Stadium, not a Hasbro Stadium nor a Balance Stadium. (If you have the capability to buy a Balance stadium, why on earth not buy an Attack Stadium instead? It is much better.)
I don't think that would work, For a couple of reasons.
1. It's an attack type, But including the dark wheel or what ever wheel it would of still been attack type.
2. I do understand that it would take the force of a another attack type but i still don't understand why call them defence?
3. Just don't add up and i have tryed it different results.
Just my opinion.
@ zaneago Its already worked out.... he has tested it.... Read Dan's post for complete info...
I will also add up something to answer your query(point no.2):
A defense type is a bey which is made to withstand attacks from attack beys and also try to lower its spin speed. Thus, this is the answer... The reason to call it 'defense' is because it would take the force of another attack type.... Your question itself holds the answer...
Actually, my Storm Pegasus 105RF has stayed in the center of the stadium once, and when my Lightning L-Drago 100RF hit it, it didn't move at all, and LLD went to he tornado ridge, circled the stadium, and SP barely lost any stamina throughout the battle.
Probably covered with residue at the time.. (Not legal.)
lol, old italian metagame.
once upon a time(lol) rubber defense bottom didn't exist, and italian players were able to knock out any wb combo without troubles of any kind.
so we started to use anti meta combos like earth90rf or virgo90rf using rf in a defensive way.

Old Bey Brad metagame.
I find that MF Earth Bull CH120RF is pretty solid, deflecting attackers and decent 230 win rates.. (Seriously oldschool top-tiers.)

Edit:
BladeStorm: and in some cases, KO's. :V
As Deikailo said, the concept has always existed as a method to counter "pure" attack beyblades. With better "stamina", the more "passive" attacker wins via undercutting it via Outspin.
I can't imagine this method surviving outside of attack type communities like Italy. (because they go hardcore)Libruhhh
What say I try it out at the Bey Crusade Recruitment session..? :V See how it does in a competitive environment with variability? Plus actually injecting some tests here.

Yeah, especially with the dominance of 230 lately in London and Toronto.

lol, "skilled"
Call me a hypocrite for mocking my own take on skill > tier and saying tier stands a great chance over skill in this case, but I'm going to be excited if Dan gets far.

On a side note, burn something-145rf did exceptionally well at my last tournament. Lost out in the round before the semi finals, but still.
Haha, who knows!
I'll try it out for a couple matches but, like the torontonian I am, I'll be using 230 in times of distress. (Kei etc. LOL.) If you look at our standings at IYS you'll notice that Pocky got far with Gravity. (meaning attackers do exist and I could go far by terminating them.)

I'm too much of a consistency freak to even use RF, let alone for defensive purposes.
i can do Libra testing with Gb145RF with Pegasis 145R2F/RF eailer i tested draw we made some were KO it interesting to me :3
