[Unanswered]  Where to buy beyblades and how do you know if they're fake?

Hey! I unfortunately didn't get into the beyblade hobby when I was a kid and they were available freely in retail stores and I'm dreading it. I'm trying to find all of the beys I never got a chance to collect and I was wondering where is the best place to buy Metal Fight beys that aren't fakes? I've been on Mecari and jp.Mecari and I simply don't have an eye for what looks good and what looks sketchy. I've been able to find most of the real beys I want but I'm leaving myself disappointed because I can't find a Storm Aquario that isn't either a midfake or extremely overpriced ($90).

Help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello!

I completely feel you, MFB in stores were iconic and it was definitely one of the best things to happen but there's still hope!

Beys on JP.Mercari are real - they will usually show pictures of the underside (under the bey) and normally you'd see a number or letters on the wheel. That means it's legit. If you're buying unopened items, like NIB Beys from MFB and want more pictures to be sure, contact Teresa, as she can help comment under listings to ask for more pictures or the code of the box. Just make sure to send her the Mercari link.

I recommend looking for used and new beys on jp.mercari and especially lots if you don't mind the shipping cost from a proxy website (like Buyee) or if you buying a few, I recommend Teresa. The beys on there are legit, as I've bought giant lots, singular beys, launchers, grips and others have as well and we've all inspected each item too. (nib too!) And they're super cheap!

As for USA Mercari, they can provide you extra pictures if so. Most are legit, just keep an eye on lots on there as some may also be fake. Lots of sellers also take pictures of the Takara inscription on launchers/grips and more.

If you're buying Beyblade sets, they usually don't have any that are midfakes - so they're legit.

As for Storm Aquario, there's a listing for $70 and usually cheap listings do pop up on eBay. I've bought two NIB Storm Aquarios off eBay, for $70 and $50. It's just a matter of looking. Just make sure the Hasbro MFB packaging isn't entirely white but blue with white. That means it's real.

$79 NIB Storm Aquario (seller I've bought from):

If you want an used one:

If you're worried about companies, just buy from:
- Takara Tomy, Newboy (Middle East import), Sonokong and Hasbro

Obvious signs to watch out for, that the Bey is fake:
- Too shiny
- Metal looks like it's plastic
- Fake codes under the box
- No number/letter under metal wheel or energy rings, etc or even the inside of the facebolt! (some Metal Fusion beys have an exception)
- Packaging looks drastically different from the usual company art
- Hasbro Metal Fusion box art is mostly white (instead of the usual blue)
- TT Packaging doesn't feel "gritty"
- Stickers look unaligned

Hope this helps! Let me know if you got more questions. I'll help by listing some Storm Aquarios when I find more! If you want a list of sellers that I recommend to buy from, I can list them!

BuyBeyblades is full of fake beys. Took a chance with a big bang pegasus/L-drago. The Pegasus I couldn't even assemble and the L-drago's rubber ring broke in ~10 launches. If the prices are appealing it's probably fake.

I was also going to buy the bb-115 left/right power launcher from the sight and since I don't wanna trust buybeyblades, I can't seem to find any other place to get it. I was only going to get it as I hear it's the strongest of all rippers that's not a custom-at-home-made launcher (plus it's a string launcher that I don't have to put back in). Even the reviews at Beys and Bricks say it's cheap and breaks easily but I can't tell if the remake/knock-off was bad or if the original just isn't good. What ripper do you recommend?
