[Takara Tomy]  Flare (Gen) Testing

Same Spin Test

Flare Achilles.Outer.Orbit Gen vs Twin Nemesis.Outer.Orbit
(Simultaneous launch)
FA.outer.O Gen: 4 wins (4 OS)
tN.outer.O: 6 wins (6 OS)
Ties: 2

Opposite Spin Test

Flare Achilles.Outer.Destroy' Gen vs Drain Fafnir.Outer.Destroy
(Simultaneous launch)
FA.outer.Ds' Gen: 0 wins
dF.outer.Ds: 10 wins (10 OS)
Ties: 0

As a Mixed Attacker

Flare Achilles.00Expand.Destroy' Gen vs Twin Nemesis.00Proof.Atomic
(Flare launched second)
FA.00E.Ds' Gen: 8 wins (7 OS, 1 BF)
tN.00P.At: 2 wins (2 OS)
Ties: 0

And after that last test, I gave up on Flare and said "yep this is OP". Flare is just too heavy that it could be able to beat defense layers in stamina, be able to destablize or burst stamina opponents, and use LAD to go toe-to-toe with left spin, and then a dash driver and Gen weight to resist attacks. Maybe, just maybe Shining Amaterios could wall it, but that's a big maybe. Otherwise I can't see anything to beat this combo.

So yeah, I would keep Flare banned. Its burst risk is reduced by having Gen as the baseline, which reduces the part's risk dramatically.

EDIT: It could be stated that I didn't have Flare much of a run, especially compared to Union. I think Flare's heavier weight just makes it more defensive than Union and definitely better stamina wise. Of course, someone could feel free to expand on this testing if they really think Flare is worth unbanning.
Did more Flare testing. Yes I still think it should be banned. Mostly because it wouldn't even burst when using Atomic and a worn Gen weight.
My opinion is to keep Flare banned.

Flare Spriggan.Outer.Revolve Gen vs Sieg Xcalibur.00Bump.Quick'
(sX launched second)
FS.outer.R: 5 wins (3 OS, 2 KO)
sX.00B.Qc': 5 wins (2 OS, 2 KO, 1 BF)
Ties: 0
Note: I used Revolve because I felt Atomic would be too bursty and my Revolve has a tight spring. Also my Gen is moderately worn.

Flare Spriggan.00Proof.Atomic vs Sieg Xcalibur.00Bump.Quick'
(sX launched second)
FS.00P.At: 10 wins (9 OS, 1 KO)
sX.00B.Qc': 0 wins
Ties: 0
Notes: IT WOULDN'T BURST ON ATOMIC?!?! Again, my Gen is worn.

Also some attack comparison tests I did:

Quote:Attack Comparison Test
I tested a bunch of attack layers, trying to compare the experimental layers (Union Power, Buster Xcalibur, Flare) with the control layers (Sieg Xcalibur, Twin Nemesis) using Alter Chronos as the opponent, since Alter Chronos is a well known defense layer, but its lack in stamina can show the stamina potential of attack layers if they exist.

Twin Nemesis.00Bump.Quick' vs Alter Chronos.00Proof.Atomic
(tN launched second)
tN.00B.Qc': 4 wins (3 KO, 1 BF)
aC.00P.At: 6 wins (5 OS, 1 BF)
Ties: 1 (double burst)

Sieg Xcalibur.00Bump.Quick' vs Alter Chronos.00Proof.Atomic
(sX launched second)
sX.00B.Qc': 4 wins (3 KO, 1 BF)
aC.00P.At: 6 wins (5 OS, 1 KO)
Ties: 0

Buster Xcalibur.00Bump.Quick' vs Alter Chronos.00Proof.Atomic
(bX launched second)
bX.00B.Qc': 6 wins (4 KO, 2 BF)
aC.00P.At: 4 wins (4 OS)
Ties: 0

Union (Power) Ashura.00Bump.Quick' Gen vs Alter Chronos.00Proof.Atomic
(UA launched second)
UA.00B.Qc' Gen: 4 wins (1 OS, 3 BF)
aC.00P.At: 6 wins (6 OS)
Ties: 1

Flare Spriggan.00Bump.Quick' Gen vs Alter Chronos.00Proof.Atomic
(FS launched second)
FS.00B.Qc' Gen: 3 wins (2 OS, 1 KO)
aC.00P.At: 7 wins (7 OS)
Ties: 0

No, and that doesn't really have relevance for this thread.

I was just wondering since I just wanted to compare flare with the heaviest layer available in limited.

what good would that do if Flare wouldn't be unbanned because its really OP?

Mainly to dispute the claims of it being too heavy for limited. Looking back upon this it’s more to satisfy my self. My bad, and have a good night/day
