Topic about Spiral Knights, available on Steam. Requires Steam account to play, and is for the most part free. (free to download and play, requires money for "Energy", described somewhere below)
General rundown: Real-time RPG (not turn based) that allows for a party up to 4 people to play together. Dungeon levels are alterable, meaning that you can do certain things to change what types of monsters appear, etc. I'm not too sure on the details of altering levels seeing as how I recently started.
While playing a dungeon level, you start at "Depth 0". As you progress, the number of Depth means the lower you are (Depth 8, Depth 29, etc). Energy is used to go down a single Depth level. Read below.
"Energy" is used to do pretty much everything in this game, and is required to go further down. You will also need it to revive yourself from death. You start off with 100 Energy; when you run out, you have to wait around 24 hours for it to regenerate to maximum. You can also buy Energy with real-world currency (ie USD). I myself am too cheap to spend my money on a type of virtual currency, ha.
"Crowns" is the money in the game. You use Crowns to buy items, pay Krogmo Coliseum fees (described below), etc.
King Krogmo Coliseum pits a team together to fight another team (or have a wonderful free for all). You fight each other "Bomberman" style. Each round of the Coliseum costs 200 Crowns to pay, however you can normally get a little prize money to cover for it and get a little profit. There is respawning throughout, so don't worry about dying and not being able to play that round. The team with the most kills in a certain time period wins the game, and gets Crowns and potentially prizes. "Guilds" can become teams for the Coliseum matches as well, look below for information about Guilds. I actually play Coliseum matches when I run out of Energy for the day lmao
You can create guilds in this game, so it is very possible to create a "WBO" Spiral Knights Guild. Guilds, as told above, can be used to form a team for Coliseum games.
Thread will be used for discussion, hints, tips, and to organize group/party play.
In-game, I am known as "Thisisnttheend" (obviously without quotations), so if you play, add me.
EDIT: This weekend is a "Power Surge" weekend, so the fees to go down each Depth level is 50% off. Wish I saved my Energy till now. =/
