Random Thoughts 2: ok, more like misc. thoughts

Here we go again.

Since when did the universe revolve around me? Last I checked I was one of the 6.5 billion people that lived on this planet and wasnt anything special.

So enlighten me.
Oh here we go again with your self-important carp.

Just shut up and go away, no one wants to deal with you anymore.
And I didnt ask what you had to say. I was talking to Brad.

So let him speak first before bothering me.

the fact that you admit something doesn't interest you if you can't afford it/somehow improve your life personally with it regardless of how much of a breakthrough it is

if you seriously can't take an interest in anything that doesn't personally affect you you're probably a sociopath (though the carolers you traumatized can probably attest to this)

Actually I'm quite sane, last the school counsellor told me.

What I was trying to get across was that Why should I get hyped up if It's not going to affect me or anyone around me.
there's no need to get hyped up about the unachievable, as dreary and pessimistic as it sounds, Its how I am.

If the way we see things was catered to how you want it, everything would be boring because we'd be the same, so it pays to have a different opinion.

That's like saying "Hey I'm going to be a Debbie Downer for the sake of being different".

I think its pretty amazing you can't at least appreciate the potential of a product like Surface and the trickle-down effect it could have on other technologies. Surface is only available for commercial purchase right now, but I think it has a good chance of making it to residential areas.

Plus its easily the coolest thing Microsoft has done in a long time, so that's a plus.

You might think that, but in all honesty, when it comes to issues, while it may noy be affecting me, its affecting my friends, so when the conflict ends and theyre happy again, I might just say "Well thank carp thats over".

And btw, If I wasnt using any form of computer, how could I be writing this?
Unless I have some form of telekinetic powers that magically transfer my thinking to your forum.

Psst: Its called sarcasm.

But last I checked, sarcasm doesnt convey over the internet.

not if you have no clue how to write it i guess

Dunno if you knew, but there's an actual thing called a Tone that follows sarcasm to define that youre talking as such. Oh wait, you cant hear my tone of voice over the internet!
If you don't have anything informed to say about a particular topic, then you shouldn't bother posting with respect to said topic.
If they wanted a topic to be specific to informative things on said product, they shouldve made one.

This is called random thoughts, so it doesnt necessarily have to be a constructive opinion on what I think.

i'm not trying to restart the arguement, but I don't see why i'd need to be informative in a topic catered to randomness.
If you had noticed how previous sub-topics within this thread have played out, you'll see that there is actual direction that can carry on for several posts at a time (look at the Israel/Palestine talk that happened prior). The point of forums is to act as a medium of discussion (which is part of why I usually don't care too much for threads like these - as it can get weirdly structured).

Yes, it is a random thread, so if you didn't have anything to say of value to that sub-topic brought up, you could have just as easily changed the focus of the thread to something else that you find more interesting.

this is "random thoughts", yes, but that doesn't mean "post whatever the carp you want about whatever the carp you want with no idea what you're talking about and expect people to not call you out on it"

though that is a good idea for a thread
