I guess he was, but it wasn't really his fault. he had guilt from losing against Lui 2 times and Spryzen breaking, he became familiar with the Red Bulls and Ashtem, then Ashtem manipulated him into becoming a Snake Pit blader.

What i really hope is Ashtem returning. It would be an awesome twist if we found out Lane got his flare, and Uranus from Ashtem.
Some nice thoughts on Shu being an antagonist, I think in the end of the day it could be perceived both ways. (Also I’m not a Shu simpatizer)

Fumiya really is the best brother in all of burst.

Take Kyle Ren for example, he was manipulated into choosing the dark side, so was Shu. Shu had the choice to not go with Ashtem, but did he really? What would he have done instead, give up a shot at being he best in the world? Of course not.
Did shu have a choice that depends on ones perspective. But since we're talking about it i'll give my personal take on it now lets start with the reason shu seeks strenght which is For valt as we all know the reason why shu started beyblading was cause of valt the both where enjoying it and valt Who is the good playful character he is wanted shu And him to fight at the grandes stage of all to battle each other till the can't no more to have fun. This where shu started his journey to become the best the strongest to assure that he would be on the throne of #1 And eventually wait For valt to get to him And completed his promise. Now here come the tragic part called lui Who in a direct confrontation twice lost with him almost winning the second time. Which on the process he didnt realize that he had push Spriggan to much until he saw that the crack on Spriggan was on him not only shu failed valt but also failed Spriggan in the same process. Now lets go to season 2 we know ashtem And the bulls went to directly to recruit shu cause his a rare prodegy And shu thought it was great For him cause now he had another chance to reedeme himself For not only valt but For Spriggan but is why did ashtem go For shu? Well Imo he went their cause he saw what no one saw inclunding shu himself that shu was already mental fragile ever since he lost that second match with lui And ashtem saw that and exploite that weakness/vulnorability that shu didnt realize he had because of that shu couldnt think of another way to get stronger while ashtem knew so shu went with asthem plan without knowing what he was putting himself into.  Shu was the perfect strong blader ashtem needed to make the ultimate blader And shu prove it that he was poweful beat lui And probaly would've beaten free if he was sent in his way. So from the beginning shu was a done deal to be red eye same For Spriggan cause remember Spriggan was never evil like his partner he was broken And lost his way but decide to follow his partnet either way in this path of dedtruction we succeed together or failed together which result that perfect sync/merge/posesion between shu And Spriggan but during this ashtem was starting to lose control of shu as well cause of Spriggan Who act as a defence i'm ofcourse referering to that scene where ashtum pick up Spriggan only to get burn by his dark aura Which surprise him now shu/Spriggan was acting completely own it own. But that was perfectly fine with ashtum cause it will help him either way his action was giving tremendous result beyond his imagination but that plan was destroyed by valt Who saw that his beat friend was still their And that his their to complete that promise thats why valt stop save him the talking way but instead give him that battle as valt said himself he deserve freeing him of that promise And saving him at the same time. Quite a story would'nt you agree. Man that was long lol but yea thats how I viewed the shu arc from the gloroius hero fallen from grace to rebuild himself back up moving on with his failures And learn from it.

He wasn’t controlled by Spriggan. He was first manipulated by Ashtem, who forced him to abandon his ties and morals in order for him to properly pursue his obsession of power which left him with  nothing to lose or get distracted by. Even after this, Shu wasn’t satisfied so he met Spriggan via the Requiem project and both Spriggan and Shu decided to merge together motivated by a common goal. In other words, it wasn’t truly Spriggans fault, it just responded to its owners desires whom himself was being controlled by Ashtem.
This why when some People says Spriggan And shu doesnt have that much of a connection I always tell them look at season 2 Spriggan And shu was in perfect unision. Season 1 also has one of the best momment where Spriggan was Losing stamina but shu fighting And unyielding spirit was so strong that Spriggan was respond a flared up with a vicious comeback And made the undefeated champ sweat And desperate like crazy to the point of him saying why wont you burts And contintued saying burts already thats how strong their bond is

Speaking of villains and antagonists, I remember how some people would consider Lui a villain. I do not consider him one, but I am sure that hes an antagonist because yknow, the plot intended for him to be an obstacle for the main character. Even years after the first season, I dont think Lui is considered a villain because he didnt plot anything serious like world domination, and other villainous plans
This is a weird conversation. didnt shu admit that he was lying to himself and was not really being controlled by spriggan, he was pretending so that he could win? Honestly, both Ashtem and Spryzen asked if shu wanted their help, and shu said, yah sure, why not. Not only that, he was allowed to cut his ties and leave at any time. So how is this not shu's fault? Ashtem and spriggan were manipulating him, yeah, sure, but two things:
#1: Shu kinda abandoned spryzen, so he created a new one in the way shu wanted him to be. The Spriggan Shu has rn is not the spriggan we know and love, it's a clone made to fit shu's snake pit form better. The real spryzen, washed up on a river shore somewhere, never to be found again, might have been able to help shu get out of his depressed state. but shu decided to be like "no, im a supa emo preteen, i dont need ur help, loser" and abandon it. The new Spriggan, meaner and more twisted, decided to push shu in further. shu did connect w/ it eventually, but why would spryzen try to hurt shu? my second point, obviously. (best transition eva)
#2: Spriggan2 knew that that spryzen1 was abandoned. Spryzen2 resented shu for abandoning its former self. Spriggan2 completely hated shu. Spryzen2's demeanor, the way he was ruining shu's life, shoving him into despair, honestly, if ya put it all together, it makes total sense. but also, what makes this like 100 percent not Spriggan2's fault, is the fact that spryzen2 was scared of shu. Shu... just abandoned Spriggan1 without a thought. Spryzen2 had to win, win, win, win if he didn't want to get abandoned, to live a worthless life in the middle of nowhere, to just rust and decay for all of eternity. Which brings me to the biggest thing, the most important facet of this, is the fact that spriggan2 hated shu because he was scared of shu. this is what drives this whole story, why the plot went the way it did. Spryzen2 didn't want to have to be scared of, shu, he wanted to be shu's best friend, he wanted to chill, but noooooo, shu had to go and scare the beyblade to death. The reason valt was able to erase spriggan2's hatred was because spryzen2 was having fun. He wasn't scared of Shu then, they connected, and were having fun together, thats what spryzen wanted.

TL;DR: I pyschoanalyze a plastic spinning top.

You made one mistake Spriggan was never scared of shu he simply fellow shu cause the have the goal,  both legend and requiem arent different their Just the same its Just evolved to have everything the other beys have you dont need to evolved dirrectly to from the same layer you Just can make a new one the avatar Just pass on to the other layer its Just that simple their no Spriggan 1 And 2. And you forgot one other thing shu went with ashtem cause he was already broken he Just never realize it and got played anyone would've suffer the same fate. What happen to shu is simple he was extremely fragil ashtem took adventage of it and create red eye And Spriggan went a long with cause he seeks what his partner seeks thats why the had a perfect connection it Just that simple.

Dynamis would win in my opinion. I always saw Dynamis as a sort of mystical being while I saw tithi as some fortunate kid.
Agreed. I just feel like Dynamis would have some sort of upper hand or a better chance to win compared to Tithi

Ryuga’s attack mode was his true potential, not the a absorb mode. Absorb mode isn’t as powerful as you would think and the manga is better at proving it.

What made L-drago L-drago was the attack power in the end, and that’s what made the forbidden bey a force to be reckoned with. Absorb mode was cool, but it wasn’t Ryuga’s true power, more of a back up plan.

Attack mode is when L-drago’s beast is unleashed so it could happen. Gingka said that Ryuga was the strongest rival he had and he ko’d a semi-mastered Big Bang, fang, and mercury with ease

Ok and? The anime isn’t based off of real life
