As you know my absolute favorite blader is the Legend of Legends himself, Valt Aoi, and some of my top 5 are Big Five members as well, but here are my top five bladers outside of the Big Five. Here are these awesome bladers in no particular order.
The Pitch-Black Shadow,
Daigo Kurogami
There are many reasons I love Daigo; his design, his bey, his cool under pressure yet kind personality and while his aesthetic certainly is of the darker variety, he isn't at his heart malicious or antagonistic. I loved Daigo's character arc and it was great putting his character arc breakdown together. Dealing with serious guilt is such a human experience to that so many people can relate to. I loved the work they did with his character. Definitely one of the best characters in the franchise.
The Unrivaled Sword,
Xander Shakadera
The Unrivaled Sword Xander Shakadera was a character I liked right off the bad. He has such a great light-hearted down to earth personality and yet Is a fierce blader in the ring. The way he encourages and gives sincere props to even bladers he defeats says so much about him as a person. Him and Valt have a great friendship as well as a rivalry. He's powerful, fun, and very well characterized.
Eternal Typhoon,
Rantaro Kiyama
Rantaro, OG Burst character and Blading Legend is just a character that is easy to love. To begin I have to give props to VA, particularly his original one, Matt Hill. He imbued Rantaro with such life. Rantaro is another one of those fun characters you love to watch on screen. I love his loyalty, he perseverance, and his tell like it is way of dealing with people. Great character.
Dragon Tamer,
Dante Koryu
Dante isn't really that well regarded in the franchise, but I really like this character. His story isn't one that is primarily about becoming Number 1 but rather the defense of the Blading World which was such a refreshing direction to take an MC in Burst. I also find him a character that enjoy watching and his relationship with both Dragon and Delta were great pillars to a great season.
The Feral Guardian,
Ken Midori
There's a reason I did a character arc breakdown on Ken. His character arc was such a great personal story about finding connection with people, moving beyond isolation. His growth was wonderful to see, he went from shy and isolated, to open and confident by embracing connection with others. Such a great character with a great journey both within and without.
