He’s one of those heavily overrated characters alongside Valt, Shu and Lui (sort of) but unlike him they have good character depth and growth which makes them fun to watch whereas Free is just lame IMO.

I like Free because he has a cool exterior however you can tell he values his close friends and allies, like Kris, his deers, Valt, etc.

Definitely interesting to see how someone who likes Free would describe him. I still feel the way I do tbh but I do think that it was a good description.

From what I've seen he think Free is boring, and doesn't like how he went from taking each of his opponents seriously in Turbo to being more laid back and lazy and Surge.

Yeah pretty much although I don’t think he’s lazy. I just think he’s the product of hypocritical writing and devolution. It seems to me like it’s just the aesthetics that people like about him and that includes his bey. If it’s not just that, then it’s still surely one of the biggest factors.

I don't think he ever stopped taking blading seriously. Obviously yes Aiger hasn't made much of a name for himself but he still beat Lui, so thats enough reason to actually start taking Aiger seriously. Hikaru and Hyuga at the start of series where just loud mouthed wannabe's, so Free didn't take them seriously and just stuck to his own training. Once he saw that their combined power was comparable to Lain with First Uranus, he could tell they we infact somewhat strong and started fighting seriously.

There's no reason to unleash your full power of some kids who've only beat Rantaro and Silas.

Surely he wouldn’t but it’s still nonetheless a kick in the face to charatcer development. Even that smug face he made when he barely beat Silas followed by “you still have a long way to go.” Was very annoying. He’s still that somewhat rude kid from god who hardly has fun and is bland as ever.
Doesnt he launch with his hand when he doesn't take a blader as serious like he did with aiger at first. It's like how Lui didn't take valt seriously first.

Yes and no. Launching with his hand is more like the at most bottom of the scale. Just because he uses his launcher when fighting you isn’t quite a guarantee that he’s taking you seriously but rather the expression he makes which gives it away.

The smug face he made was just proof that he still values winning and actually having fun. No reason to smile after winning if you don't value the sport. He enjoys blading now, I thought that we be obvious by the end of Evolution but I guess not. Also saying you still have a long way to go isn't being rude. Its just saying you aren't strong enough yet, and Silas clearly isn't.

Also that "smug" face didn't look that smug to me, it kinda looked endearing. Of course this is just me and I could be wrong. Of course Silas was mad but he wasn't insulted by Free saying that, he had just trained hard for this moment and still wasn't strong enough to contend with Free.

It definitely was smug, that’s why the animation showed him narrowing his eyes in a very cocky way (it happens a split second after the picture you posted). And honestly, it’s hard to say that after Silas held off both his and Valt’s attacks and lost by a mere second. He doesn’t have a “long way to go” Free, you barely won. The smile he made after isnt really enough claim to say that he enjoys the sport in a plausible light since he smiled for a different reason (that being that he beat Silas). Even if he enjoys blading, it’s clear that his values are not different. He still only enjoys battling top contender opponents such as Valt and Rantaro. He was already like that beforehand where he still enjoyed blading to some extent, although only the big 5 (as well as some of the other strongest bladers in the world) could satisfy his cravings at the time and it’s more or less the same here where a minority group of powerful bladers can make him happy.

He does not narrow his eyes actually after this actually, in that image he has already changed his facial position. Anyway its clear Silas still has a long way to go. He couldn't beat Free in a clash and couldn't come out of that clash with enough stamina to beat Free, nuff' said. That smile is enough to  encourage the fact that yes he enjoys blading. He's happy that he beat Silas and made a snarky remark, no reason for him to do that if he didn't care and was just bored and rude. Its clear he still enjoys and takes blading seriously, of course battling stronger opponents is more interesting but thats just common sense for everyone.

He doesn’t really have a “long way to go” though. A long way to go would be getting crushed by Free and losing by a burst or such. One could say that Free barely won that at all and he definitely had plot armour since he was teamed up with Valt who had plot armour in order to progress to the semis. The snarky remark makes it clear that he’s still cocky/rude to an extent because it’s implied that he already knows Silas wants to beat him badly. Otherwise he wouldn’t have said that to him right after the battle. Sure battling strong bladers is more fun but Valt and Rantaro are quite literally legends. They aren’t just “strong” bladers, they are THE strongest category of bladers so it’s obvious that he is humble around them. And even then he still makes those bored expressions. Meanwhile in turbo he was actually kind of cool and battled everyone. Sure he didn’t take Aiger too seriously at first but even during the handspind battle he realized he was actually wrong. I was wrong, in the image that was his expression but he still definitely narrowed his eyes as I just saw since I rewatched it. Another thing to note is that it is clear anime trope amongst cocky characters.
He was smiling the whole time after he won. Just narrowed his eyes when he turned to look at silas.

Yes, it’s intended to imply that they are being cocky a lot of the time. Especially when the squint/narrow is directed towards somebody. It’s not always the case but his exchange with Silas sells it.

I suppose that it’s up to interpretation but I don’t believe he did it for no reason. He looked at Valt with a normal expression but then looks at Silas and narrows his eyes? That’s a no from me.

Because he was momentarily basking in his glory of winning, cause he's happy he won.

Basking in glory is effectively just another way of saying that he was cocky/arrogant in that moment. Of course you have the right to feel that way after winning but he definitely knew what he wanted to say to Silas. It wasn’t a pointless exchange between the two. It’s no coincidence that he narrows his eyes, looks directly at Silas and tells him that he has a “long way to go” after that close match to which Silas is infuriated by.

I sure love my text walls huh.

Obviously we see that Satomb couldn't beta Free in a clash and was left with less stamina. he needs to get stronger and get more stamina, thats 2/3's of the equation which is alot.

I also don't see how that plot armor. Stamina bey has more stamina than non stamina bey. Thats just your bias talking or sumthin.

The thing is I don't see your point with the Aiger battle. Both times mid battle he realizes that the opponents are a force to be reckoned with and fights seriously. You saying he didn't take Hikaru and Hyuga seriously? Thats not the case. Also the handspin is the exact same as just launching your bey lightly, same situation for both battles.

Well yeah, he's being cocky in the moment cause he's happy he won. If he wasn't happy and was what you think of him as as stereotypical emo I don't care about anything, he wouldn't care about saying anything after. I also said already that Silas isn't mad at Free for saying that, he had an even sadder expression in his match with Dante. He's mad because he was training for a long time and didn't win, simple as that.

He didn’t take Hyuga and Hikaru seriously at first. He only took them seriously when they united their power as one which reminded him of Lane. Later after that he didn’t even want to bother with Hyuga until after Rantaro convinced him. Also it isn’t just my bias taking, defense types have outspun stamina types before in burst and as I said, it’s not exactly a long way to go when you lose by a single second after taking attacks from both bladers. It was extremely close, like, really close so saying “you have a long way to go” isn’t exactly true. A fair amount of training is what is needed. Free definitely had plot armour during that battle because he was teamed up with Valt who was a finalist in the tournament therefore meaning that he had to win to progress since the writers don’t want tie breakers. Additionally in the battle where he was teamed with Dante he was definitely upset about the loss but didn’t growl nearly as aggressively as he did after Free’s remark. Also your second quote pretty much confirms that you knew he was being cocky so that discussion is pretty much over then.
