Questions about the WBO

I'm guessing if it was, it would be in an announcement.
I do not necessarily want to make a big announcement at the moment, and since people had posted here to ask about it, I will reply in this topic.

Everything seems to have gone back to normal, for the moment. A database backup was made and downloaded as soon as that was noticed, so at least we have that ...

Expect us to change hosts very soon however. The migration should go smoothly though.

If some people have no idea what I am talking about : the site got reset back to June 4th for the third time this morning ...
I see, for me it just refused to load ='/ great things are back to normal though.
For one second there I thought I ran into my past self...
Whew... I'm glad I don't have to type up all my test results again.
Will the WBO ever get it's own chatroom?

Chatrooms often result in members spamming.

Keyword is often. I think the group here is mature enough to have a chatroom. It would just be a cool place for bladers to chat up instead of having to go through the awkward stages of asking for emails and stuff.

I think instead of saying it's a bad idea I think we should try it and then if it is a bad idea we can actually say... "We've tried it, it doesn't work."

We did try it though.

Seriously, it would soon either be totally unpopular, like the past one, or would be full of SPAM and questions that are often asked, and asked again, etc.

Also, I am not managing a chatroom. This forum is already enough.

Didn't know that you guys had already tried. Sorry...

Yeah I know that running a forum can suck. Especially when people don't know how to use the "Search" function or just like to waste posts when they having nothing to say... Or posting in wrong sections.

Sorry to seem like a pushy carp. I just like to try and help out communities I like and do as much as I can to push them forward.
When you say new host does that mean MyBB? If so would site site get a different layout or would it be the same?

No, we would of course stay with the myBB system, however we just want to move the site elsewhere. Nobody will see a difference, except perhaps more uptime, obviously, but some possible downtime during the migration. We just think it is intolerable to ruin our members' experience with the host's unbelievable mistakes, so we want to rectify the situation.

Of course, of course. When there is downtime we actually know about, we notify everybody at least twenty-four hours beforehand. It should only take a few hours, apparently.

This is another problem : we were never officially notified that issues would be happening ... They just happened, and they were bad.
Is it normal for every other page to have glitches?
For example, when I browse the forum, sometimes the page doesnt have the background template, or the template for text. The faces and beypoints arent displayed either.

No, I don't think it's normal.
What browser are you using?
Internet Explorer (The Newest one?)

I'll add an attachment with my browser.

I use Google Chrome and had no troubles with the site. However my IE (the same version as yours) also works so I'm not sure what happened to your browser.

Also, there seems to be some differences on the layout of the site between Google Chrome and Internet Explorer.
The 'boxes' (the box the says 'Welcome Climax') in Google Chrome has a rounded edges:

While the Internet Explorer has square-ish 'boxes':

Alright then,I'll try switching my browser and report if anything messes up.

Good luck!Wink
I was wondering why only MFB are allowed in most current tournaments, I don't see the need to prohibit HMS and Plastics.

I am pretty sure it is because HMS and Plastics don't meet on the same competitive level as MFB/BMF. And it is already hard to run one tourney for MFB so i doubt anyone could host 3 different tourneys at once 1 for mfb, 1 for hms , and one for plastics....
I'm not asking for 3 tournaments, I just don't see the reasoning behind not allowing the earlier Beyblades, worse or not. Samurai Changer still has a decent win ratio against MFB and Wolborg MS can still win too.
MFB Is on a totally different level of size and shapes than the last two generations. It would probably be best not to include them because they weren't designed to take each other on. Plus, if someone has a HMS Blade that just happens to destroy all MFB but cannot be bought anymore because it's out of production and MFB are the only thing in production people aren't really gonna like the fact that you are using something from out of system that they can't even get anymore.

Although I don't think the second reason is a particularly valid one, the first is pretty much the reason.

There is the Open Format, if you wanted to include all Bey.
