Questions about the WBO

Q: is there a limit to the amount of teams in an area? IE can there me more than 1 team in <insert state here>?

No not really, but if it gets to the point where all the members in the area are on every single team, whats the point of having different teams?

But you can only have one team thread for your own team, though.
I think he means something like "can there be more than (#) teams in (state). And yah, I believe there can be as many as people make.

I answered his question and suggested that there would be no point if there were, for example, three teams with all the same members.
They wouldn't be the same members, they'd be completely different teams is what I think he was saying.

I know exactly what he was saying, again, I just said that there would be no point in having 10 teams for an area of 5 members.

Trust me, I understand what he was asking. I answered his question directly by saying "no not really" and then continued to describe a scenario where multiple teams would just become insipid spam.

Yeah.. But in larger areas with lots of bladers.. Lets say, toronto. Why can't there be multiple teams? (that can have all of those fancy team/gang battles to see what team is better or something like that)
Just saying brah...
I have played 2 tourneys till now but my beypopints have not chnged at all ( 1000 ). I want to chnge my username too as my username is too complicated. So can I chnge my username?
You can change your username by going to your User Control Panel (User CP) and then finding the option "Change Username" in the left tab.

As for BeyPoints, they will be awarded to you once your tournament gets processed by the WBO. It will take some time for it, though.

Did I ever say that there couldn't be multiple teams? I did not even mention large areas, I described a scenario where it would be pointless to have many teams. Not once did I say "no multiple teams are not allowed", furthermore, the scenario I described wasn't for large areas.

Am I really being that unclear? Again I will repeat that I did answer his question and I do not need help in understanding.
Well, I understand what Insomniac. is hinting at.
The scenario she described was totally legit and quite general. It wasn't exactly specific to areas with less bladers- though her example suggests otherwise.

She means to say-
There is no definite limit to the number of teams one can have in an area. However, the upper limit is self-determined when-
1.There are more teams than there are members in a certain area
2. The number of teams is so high(in proportion to the number of members) that each team contains just 2-3 members at max.
3. (This is what Insomniac. spoke about in detail)
There are quite a many teams and also quite a many stupid members who join multiple teams for no reason. As soon as this happens, the concept of having teams holds no meaning(imagine having a two-way team battle in which you are a member of both teams. Is it any meaningful to you? You win irrespective of who wins). Thus, it puts a limit to the number of "useful" teams that can be had in an area.

So while an infinite number of teams can be made for a certain area, by common-sense, a limit to the number of teams can be self-determined. And people who follow the latter are generally better appreciated...

I hope I understood Insomniac. clearly(which I am sure I did), and also managed to convey it clearly. Smile
Yes that's what I was trying to say and in my opinion it doesn't take much to figure it out. But clearly more "to the point", elaborate and direct answers are needed nowadays. Thanks for your cohesive elaboration, Jan, here have a cookie (。・ω・。)ノ☆
In the Community Rules it states:
"RESPECT THE COMMITTEE!

Finally, respect the WBO Committee members at all times."

Who are the current members of the WBO Committee?

Thank you Uwik. Perhaps that link could be put with the final rule so it would be more obvious to us noobs? (I hate being a noob)
Why is Blader DJ a mod? He doesn't even post! Haha, did Bey Brad make Blader DJ?
Ok, this is Outnumbered.
So my sister's been on the WBO a bit, and I decided to log back on. I (stupidly) had logged out without copying my psychotic username anywhere. So I get my sister to get onto her account, and copy my username. I paste it, type in my password, and it doesn't work. I try this a few more times and it still doesn't work. So I reset the password, and try it. It doesn't work. I repeat, same result. So I was wondering if the problem is my messed up username, and if it is, if a mod could change it back to normal "Outnumbered." If its not, then how would I be able to get back onto my account?

Most likely. You should PM an admin to have them change it.

WHY WOULDN'T BLADER DJ BE A MOD?! But, you can probably find your answer by searching around a bit Smile

Anyways!!:

Amazing News!

I think after all the advertising efforts that various WBO members have done, getting in newspaper articles, having sponsors for their events, etc ... really paid off today. I mean, it not everyday that the WBO gets a mention in a newspaper article. And even if it is a small local paper, it still undoubtedly means a lot to each and every member on the site! It may not be much, but at least its something, right? Well, I can say that all our efforts have paid off today, because look at what happened ... we got yet another mention in the newspaper! Not any newspaper, but The New York Times itself! Here is the link if you don't have access to the actual newspaper:

Not front page, but hey, c'est quelque chose!
How could you? I was so excited for the WBO, and you do this?? Haha, good one tho!
Today I was trying to post and it wouldn't let me because it said my post was too many characters. (It said it was 87 and had to be 85)I took out a full sentence, still said it was too long. ?

It is most likely due to the number of characters in the title of the topic you were posting, not how many characters were in your own reply. When "RE: " gets added to a thread title, it adds four characters, so if the actual title is already quite long, that addition pushes it over the limit obviously.

So change the reply title to something shorter.
It wasn't my thread though, so I can't change the title.

No, the title of your reply. See the arrow Smile

That should fix it!
Oh! Thank you Insomniac.!
I'm not sure if it was just my laptop, but does the "Who's Online" list refresh itself periodically?
