Do you absolutely need one that is functional ?

What should i get,
Diablo, Hell Kerbecs, or Flash?
In my opinion:
Hell for BD145 and for Kerbecs.
Diablo for, well, Diablo.
Or Flash, for Flash.
Should I get all three? But then I wont get the random boosters I was planing to buy, and i would need to save up some more money.
Can you please help.

I would personally forget Diablo Nemesis, for certain, and if you really want only one of the three, Hell Kerbecs is probably the least expensive and BD145 is very useful.

My son has decided he wants Beyblades for Christmas. I'm trying to put some on his Amazon Wish List, but there are TONS. Which are the "latest & greatest" that have been released? Can anyone give me some names, or a website that might list which things have been released when? I'd like to get him whatever ones are newer so that he & his little friends don't all have the same ones.

All the existing beys are listed on the Beywiki, but i suggest these:
The Ultimate Dx Set
Flash Sagittario 230WD
Hell Kerbecs BD145DS
Phantom Orion B: D
Diablo Memesis X: D
If your child wants Zero-G, I recomend waiting for the BB-24 and BB-25 Ultimate Synchrome Dx Sets.

While the post above me is good, there is one extra thing you need: A stadium!

If you want a solid, reliable stadium, BB-10 Attack Stadium is the way to go. The best purchases containing it are BB-76 Galaxy Pegasis DX Set and BB-107 Big Bang Pegasis DX Set. It's a bit flimsy and you need to be careful not to step on it or something similar (this is obvious though), but it provides for very exciting battles that any kind of beyblade can win in.

If you want a more gimmicky stadium, I would recommend one of the Zero-G Stadiums, like the BBG-04 Attack Stadium or the Defense Stadium. Some good purchases are the BBG-03, which contains a nicely colored Samurai Ifraid and the stadium, and the BBG-21, which contains a Samurai Ifraid, Guardian Revizer and the Attack Stadium.

That's a fake, period.

To elaborate on the above answer, fake items are really not recommended because they break very easily, and by buying them you are not supporting the actual brand.

Our Authorized Beyblade Dealer, dimsum2u, has the cheapest prices on the net and he also has a few rare Beyblades, so you should definitely check his topics in the Authorized Beyblade Dealers section/sub-forum.

However, to really give you a list of some suggestions, you would need to tell us if he is the sort of kid who will actually play with those rare, often painted Beyblades so that we need to recommend him some that have good parts and that do not only look good, or if he is likely to admire their beauty and not really play with them since they are rare and that battles would scratch their paint.

Hm, this is difficult then ... Would getting Beyblades that are only available in Japan and which might not necessarily be released by Hasbro in the rest of the world (and even then, it would be in more than a year) be good enough to be considered "rare" ? If so, we could give you several recommendations on Zero-G Beyblades which have many good parts, and since they only exist in Japan and South Korea right now, they are quite rare.

What about the Big Bang Pegasis DX? Although the bey itself is useless, it comes with 105RF and 85XF too.
