oh so we're getting letters on ratchets now, but they STILL won't give us a 1-70? I call BS!
(yes I know why it's got a letter but the point still stands!)

I think it's because theis will be a unique ratchet. I specualte, the M stands for Metal, and it may be meta friendly due to being an 85 type rachet, I.E.: No traditional burst resistance.
Seriously! 0-70, and now a metal ratchet! Power Creep!

Well it's an 85 height so that might impact it but I assume they show is 85 height for a reason to make it more balanced. we will have to see

Thats probably why they made it so high. To prevent that

It's just tall because that's what TT thinks defense is, for some reason. And it's the same single-piece design as 3-85 and 4-55, which people seem to widely regard as terrible.

As for if it was lower, it would have the regular locking system and would probably be a worthwhile option, yes. However it would also have the usual shape for a 5 ratchet, not the modified shape that x-55 and x-85 use.
Ignore this post. I accidentally posted two things.
Do you think that m-85 will be viable? like silverwolf m-85 hexa? (the real question, is WHY IS IT ONLY CALLED M?!? It Clearly has 5 protrusions! Something called M5-85 would make more sense...)

M is the only metal ratchet so far. Adding a number might imply that there is more of them

Edit, just watched the TT review of Tricera Press and the shape of M-85 is hardly changed from 5-XX, unlike how 3-85 and especially 4-55 were more drastically altered. M-85 is just 5-85 with slightly rounder nubs, this thing is cooked 💀

I would be very surprised if we only ever get 1 M ratchet in the entire gen but, even if we do, is every other 85 height letter ratchet going to be 5 sided? 'Cause it would be really weird if M-85 was 5 sided but R-85 was shaped like 4-55, no?
Only way to know is to wait and find out when TT releases a new lettered ratchet. No use speculating at this point.
