So I was told this might be an idea worth sharing. Its all very much a basic outline.
We would have separate modifiers.
One modifier would be a hard-set modifier based on event type.
Example:
Single Elimination is X0.25
Round Robin is X5
Swiss could be X3
Another modifier could be Rounds to win Match
Example:
One match X1
Best of 3 X3
And the Biggest Modifier player count
set the base as 16 X1
Example:
32 X2
8 X0.5
And the final modifier being placing
a score between 1-10
10 being first place.
if in a 100 player tournament and u place second it would be
0.99
If in a 10 person tournament and u place second, it would be
0.9
The numbers aren't hard set just a idea. It would work great as a seasonal ranking.
