Collectively over 18 years i've been there for abot 9months or so~ So i guess experience over internet experience does, please dont take my posts as being offensive its just your trying to say you know more about something you haven't experienced first hand from the country yourself, and the main fashion back in january was mainly urbanware and the clothing you showed above i never even saw despite being in some of the most populated parts of japan

Please quote the message where I stated that this style was a dominant or even mainstream style. I am fairly certain I never said anything to that degree. "Mainstream" fashion in Japan is pretty similar to mainstream fashion anywhere else. All I said was that a particular t-shirt pattern was a common design, which is why Gazette used it for their NIL cover; because at the time it was a popular design among punk labels in Japan. It's also possible that it's the other way around, and that the design was influenced by the NIL album. At any rate, many brands produced t-shirts with that similar pattern.

The style I'm into is more popular with musicians, not random people you see walking around the streets of Japan, who I imagine just dress like normal people. I'm not sure what you're going to "prove me wrong" about, but so far all you've proven is that you lack reading comprehension and anything to support what you're saying other than "I'M AN EXPERT I SPENT LESS THAN A YEAR (over the span of eighteen years in unspecified time periods) WALKING AROUND JAPAN AND DON'T ACTUALLY WEAR JAPANESE FASHION"

Take a look through the Street Casual and Glamorous sections. Just because you did not have personal encounters with these styles does not mean that they do not exist, nor does it mean that they are unpopular. It means that you did not encounter these styles, or if you did, you did not make note of them -- probably because you are demonstrably uninterested in those styles anyway.

And by the way, someone who has researched the moon for years will know more than someone who has walked on its surface but not had any intellectual or emotional investment in it. I follow Japanese fashion, I wear Japanese fashion. You may have viewed the moon a bit closer than I have, but I have studied it with much more fervor. No, it does not encompass all Japanese fashion but it is inarguably an integral part of Japanese pop culture and modern society. To deny that is just really naive and short-sighted.

PS. I never, EVER claimed SLOWHANDJAM or gyaru-o were popular. I don't even really like that brand or that style. I just like the shirt. I don't wear gyaru-o, and a cursory examination of my photos would've shown you that. My style is closer to a subdued host-style than gyaru-o.

Do you even know where most of this fashion picks off? Shinjuku, do you know where most of the shops that hold these kind of clothes are? Shinjuku and Ginza to some extent, i visited MOST of the shops there and i DID see them but not a lot maybe one dedicated rack out of the 30 that there were in those shops, and the only brands that i can think off of the top of my head that i recently bought are Buden Akido, Sevn Joen, Namitatsu, Dangoon.

And the GazettE i've followed since their Gama days or even before that when they played in live houses amongst small audiences. They are hardly trend setters and change their style every album so using them as a yard stick to measure any kind of fashion wouldn't be the best e.g. They're releasing DIM next month and they've rehauled their look to suit the music which i've got to say is going back to how it was before. Onto the point you made about musicians, i saw a few concerts, i even saw the GazettE live but that was in London a few years back about a week and a half ago Girugamesh were live here in the O2 arena, most people there wore normal clothes whilst some chose to wear eccentric lolita goth outfits.

And please you just assume i dont wear any japanese clothing yet when i was there i went shopping numerous times, most of the clothes on that site you listed above are very generic, some have a japanese sense of style whilst others you could find here in England, if you think wearing a shirt that has some random Kanji written on it makes you a large follower and understanding person about their fashion then you should really consider going there, when you do people will be like oh no not another one of them. What do you use to follow Japanese style? Magazines? The internet? The only thing im going to say is that unless you have friends there who are up to date and go clothes shopping weekly or even daily you cant really say nothing, most magazines follow trends set my celebrities, and yet when you go to japan its not so much so what men follow their idols, more so the women do e.g. the whole lady gaga thing there is popular there right now - and yes i know this because a friend there has told me and how she is growing out her hair etc =)

Personally i dont have a favorite japanese brand to wear, if it looks good i'll buy it, if its popular and looks good thats even more reason to get it. However i didn't always spend time shopping, most of the time i was out with friends who LIVE there met through my dads workers (their children) so i know what the street fashion there is like, and believe me Shinjuku you'll see about almost any fashion there, if you can buy the piece of clothing, you can bet someone is wearing it as absurd as it may look but not as popularly, i mean bringing back to your comment before about japanese artists and their style, most people tend to follow style such as Gackt and Miyavi but more so for their hair/face not so much so for the clothes because they're acceptable when on stage but you wont catch that many people wearing them on the streets.

Got my hair cut today! My Mom, out of total coincidence, told me that I remind her of Adam Lambert now, which is ironic because without her knowing, I showed my stylist pictures of Adam Lambert's hair for how I wanted mine cut. LOL
