The Tournament
Today’s event was a 3v3 Deck Format Double Elimination event. We had 22 bladers total who traveled down for this event. The bladers used various decks and I was enthused to see very few meta decks. The battles were exciting with some surprise wins and even more surprising losses.
Our winner, 2Blue09, went undefeated in this event with his Unique deck, featuring Wizard Rod on Level.
The Top 3 and Their Decks
1st Place: 2Blue09:
Wizard Rod 3-60 Level
Tyranno Beat 9-70 Rush
Silver Wolf 9-80 Free Ball
2nd Place Fearbola:
Wizard Rod 9-60 Free Ball
Silver Wolf 3-80 Hexa
Keel Shark 3-60 Unite
3rd Place MexicanTwix:
Wizard Rod 9-60 Ball
Phoenix Wing 5-60 Rush
Dran Buster 1-60 Low Flat
Trends
Unsurprisingly, there were a lot of Cobalt Dragoons, Wizard Rods, and Phoenix Wings. However, some shocking combos, featuring stock Dran Sword, Wizard Arrow, and Hells Scythe did well in the loser’s bracket, along with Stock Silver Wolf, and Steel Samurai.
We had a few younger entrants who made some splashes, and we hope to see them in the future.
The space we had was a lot more cramped for the amount of bladers we had. Instituting a cap will help if we use this space for future events.
