I'll also say Chiptune discussion is fine here. It's pretty nerdy too :3


Currently listening: The Adventures of Duane and BrandO LP of Destruction.
Previously only available as a Pay2DL, BrandO himself posted a torrent of the entire album in high quality FLAC, remastered, on his Facebook. Unfortunately, the band has broken up again, this time for good AFAIK. However, the music they did together was awesome. They remixed game music and sing over it. It's pretty heavily HipHop influenced and there's some explicit lyrics, however, if you don't mind that, go for it!

When it comes to Chiptune everyone knows Sabrepulse is the king! I also like like Henry Homesweet and Swampy boy a lot. You should check them out. If you go on http://www.8bitpeoples.com/ all the songs are available for free download. Has anyone heard of Unicorn Kid? He's not exactly Chiptune, but his music is very heavily influenced by it. He's only 18 and the first Chiptune-esque artist to be signed by a major label. This is a really good song of his: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doo1fVPu4c4 (listen with good headphones!)

There's an app for ipod touch called Nanoloop, if anyone's looked into making Chiptune music they will know that it's what people use to make their music on Gameboys, I downloaded it and it's simple enough. It cost a hefty £6.00 though (for an app I find that expensive), I bought it anyway.

A really good band with chiptunes is called "Horse the Band". Theyre music is also know as nintendocore and its pretty good. If youre into heavier music def check them out.

I hate to necro a thread, but I guess it's better than starting a whole new thread like I was about to.

I'm a pretty big nerdcore fan. MCFrontaLot, MC Lars, MC Chris, MC Hawking, Beefy, 8-Bit Boys, Madhatter, etc...

Just wondering how many other fans are out there.
