Music Reccomendation Thread!

Thank you! I tried googling it and I couldn't find anything. My dad's from the UK and we were trying to guess the area.
I support the Arctic Monkeys recommendation, they're such an amazing group.

They're third cd is coming out next month and I'm super pumped.
This song's been floating around for a while, so i'm sure some of you have heard it somewhere.
To me, it has this really "epic' feel to it. It's one of those songs that provokes my imagination and inspires my writing. One of my main goals in life was to pursue a creative way of life, through music, writing, movies, etc. I have alot of ideas just randomly floating around in my head, and generally get most of my inspiration from music. When i hear a song like this, it's almost as if i can see the random plotlines and scenes mesh together, and the story writes itself. This song starts off with a classical, toned down feel, and then the pace just picks itself up and carries you away.
It's from a movie, I haven't seen it yet, but i plan to in the near future, youtube link, enjoy ^^

Requiem for a Dream - Clint Mansell
Since there have been very few that have heard of this Band, I recommend Skillet, their music is great and they became my best band straight after I had listened to them a little bit.

Here are a few songs:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gablEKsjlWg -Comatose
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jP0Ne9aW7UI -The last night
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kfi3rN0C50 -Whispers in the dark (My Fav. Joyful_3)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnHpeF1RPgI -Falling inside the black
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kb4CzIdqrLI -Yours to hold

And of course there is a load more. I hope I have done this right though. Speechless

Huh? I don't follow? :\
I don't think the music you posted fits the criteria for this thread. Wink
I bought Santogold yesterday {both name and album}
I know she had some buzz but I'd say shes far too under the radar
[btw Maz, its her voice that is the sound clip "brooklyn we go hard" Tongue_out_wink]

Her voice sounds sounds mutiple other artists at times, and the ablum songs are pretty varied. bound to find one song you like.

7 Lights Out my favorite atm

2 Youll Find Away is cool, reminds me of POLICE when not the corus

6 My Super Man is erie imo

She sounds completely unique but I had to compare think of Garbage, MIA, Nelly Furtado, Police, B52's
Santogold is awesome, My Drive Thru probably my favorite work of hers, have a friend who's really into her music, blasts her stuff whenever its on.

in your opinion?

well yes if i posted it it would be my opinion, wouldn't it
Well I remember posting this before in our previous "What are you listening to thread"

Animals As Leaders- Tosin Abasi

This is brilliant. It's saddening that more people have not heard of him. Essentially if you feel like hearing some great guitar check him out. I've linked a song "Tempting time" which is easily one of my favorites from him.

If you enjoy metal, you will like this guy.
Bullets and Octane is a pretty sweet rock band I've known. They're not extremely popular, but here's my favorite song of theirs.'

Pirates

I was actually already quite interested by your post a few days back, then I realised she was performing at a festival I was going to attend, so I checked out her stuff.

Just got back from Underage Festival, she was awesome. Great performer.

This is exactly why I hate genres, and exactly what I DIDN'T want to be posted in this thread.

Can I get this locked? I'm being entirely serious. This thread has gone to hell.
You guys all killed it, seriously

I'm locking this as per request.
