When I just got death que-, I thought that it couldn't perform that good but I'm so wrong. Death turned out to be very good and its defend mode is just awesome in both defend and stamina(only in battle though). This combo stamina is good but what make it stand out is death's infamous grinding the other bey in defend mod. Here are some test:

In this battle it is seem that when vari hit death, death doesn't have much recoil and it's force keep vari smash power at minimal, so basically mean that if vari failed to knock death out in first hit, it chance of losing the battle is quite high.

This battle is a little tricky, you have to use slidding shot to make DH attack and grind SK stamina away(sometime KO) in order to win.

To spice things up a little let use XF with Vari Ares.

I laughed hard with this battle because of XF fast speed but lack grip on the stadium makes VA fight with this in mind"Either that you die or I die" lol... both beys flied out of stadium most of the timexD.
With Above result I can say that GB145 doesn't make much of a different for medium attacker like vari ares but due to GB145 height make this combo weak to low attacker like beat, vulcan and screw.
