Lubricated Launcher “Advantages”

I have poured over the rules and forums. Within the rules I have noticed that doing anything to your equipment basically boils down to “does it provide an advantage?”, if it does then it’s not legal. I would take this to mean that equipment maintenance should be legal such as reapplying lubricant to launchers, I even checked my new Griffon launcher to make sure it comes lubed.

Within the forums, however, I’ve seen staff saying that it provides an obvious advantage. That’s great, and I’m not trying to be rude, but I’m a data driven person. With that I ask what testing has been done for this generation specifically to empirically show that a lubricated launcher does provide a quantifiable advantage. Theory is well and great, but real world results are what will clearly illustrate this.

Again I’m not trying to be rude here, but the amount of launchers I see being broken or getting noticeably worn down at locals is getting ridiculous to me. If testing shows there is a statistically significant advantage then I am happy to retract my points. Furthermore, if testing has not been done then I am happy to volunteer to do it myself recording everything, of course.
