Japanese Copyright - Important, EVERYONE READ

I've recently been contacted about some copyright violations against Japanese websites. The culture of internet in Japan is a lot different than here and we need to be more cautious. So, here are the rules we are now enforcing.

JAPANESE FANSITES

You are not to, under any circumstances, direct link or copy images from Japanese websites and post them. You must link only to the page that the images are on. If it is a frames-based website, you must link to the main page only. Any violations are an 50% warn.

OFFICIAL IMAGES (TAKARA-TOMY, ETC.)

I have been contacted about the use of official images as well. However, our usage of the images are protected by fair use laws. You are allowed to repost images that are official promotional images. Since this is a non-profit website and we are using the images to promote Beyblade, this use is protected under fair usage laws. However, I am currently working on getting in contact with Takara-Tomy to see what they have to say about it.

Thanks.

I understand why this has to be done but carp if it doesn't suck. lol
How about other sites that use their images? Did they get an e-mail or do they have to deal with it themselves?

Since I have contacts in the Japanese community, I got this message from a personal friend. I don't know about other sites.
Does this affect images of the anime, which are copyrighted material owned by different companies depending on your location? Because if it does, that immensely sucks, since I just captured a bunch of images from my various DVDs...

To clarify with the rest of the Beywiki population, this punishment adds +50 warn. So if you already have 10% and disregard this rule, you will be up to 60%.
